Teaching the heart of EMDR EMDR & Beyond grew out of a shared passion for the healing of suffering. Please inform your therapist if you prefer using masks.

Our Mission is to support and promote the healing of adverse life experiences through therapy, consultation, training and education. We offer psychotherapy specializing in the therapeutic approach EMDR. We also offer education for the EMDR theraputic community, with a range of EMDR topics, resources, workshops and workshop events for the EMDR clinician. Our EMDR Basic training is open to interns and practicum students at a reduced rate, as part of their educational process. EMDR are following CDC guidelines in that wearing a mask is optional. If you are immune compromised or unvaccinated, masks are available.

Lately in consultation, I’ve been hearing a consistent request for EMDR refreshers that are relevant to cultural considerations. Complete with handouts and worksheets!

I love this part of my work. Support is something that was not as easy to get when I was starting out. That's why working alongside EMDR clinicians genuinely fills my soul, hearing what they struggle with and trying to find ways to support them. Cultural competence & humility isn’t something most of us just 'have', it something we learn over time, make mistakes and and learn some more. It’s the work of staying intentionally curious, attuned, and accountable so whoever we are interacting with feel seen, heard and important - and that creates safety.

My colleague and I, Roxanna Carcamo have had numerous conversations on the impact of language, heritage and generational influences directly related to healing within the cultural context.
