Trying to conceive can hold so much worry.

The waiting.
The hoping.
The disappointment.

This cycle can be challenging and the mental health impacts can vary from worry and sadness to anxiety depression and grief.

At Bloom Well Therapy, our psychotherapist, Kate, is skilled at working closely with individuals navigating their fertility journey.

Her approach is gentle, steady, and deeply supportive, holding space for you to process the uncertainty, the sadness and grief.

Sometimes having someone outside of your personal circle, a trusted, neutral guide, can make space for your feelings and help support your mental health through all of this.

It’s Blue Monday 💙

And while Blue Monday has actually been debunked, ,it was originally coined as part of a winter travel marketing campaign, the feelings many people experience in January are very real.

Shorter days, less sunlight, colder weather, post-holiday pressure, and the weight of “new year, new me” expectations can all impact mood, energy, and emotional wellbeing.

For some, this can show up as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a real and treatable form of depression linked to seasonal changes.

If today has got you feeling down, here are a few simple ways to support yourself:

• Pause for a slow, deep breath
• Step outside if you can, even a short, chilly walk can help reset your system
• Call or text someone who lifts you up

What’s one thing you’ll do today to brighten your Monday? Comment below! 👇

Virtual therapy wasn’t the plan… but it became one of the best decisions we ever made.

Back in 2020, we were working out of an in-person office in downtown Toronto. When things shut down, we quickly shifted to virtual sessions out of necessity… and we never looked back! ✨

What we found was that virtual therapy actually expanded access. We can now support individuals across Ontario including regions where there simply aren’t local therapists with perinatal or women’s mental health specialties.

And honestly? The benefits have been incredible for our clients 💜

You get more time back in your day. No commute. More consistency. You can have sessions from your couch, your bedroom, on a walk, in your car, wherever works best for you.

And when appointments bring up big emotions, you don’t have to step out into the world right after. You can take a moment. You can breathe. You can settle.

Have you tried virtual therapy before? What was your experience like? Share below in the comments!

So many parents think strengthening the bond with their child requires more time, more energy, or doing more. 🤍

But attachment grows through small, repeated moments of connection.

These moments matter. Even in just spending 10 minutes of uninterrupted and distraction free time together can go a long way in improving the relationship with your child.

A strong parent–child bond supports emotional regulation, reduce behavioural struggles, and helps children feel steadier in themselves, at home, at school, and in relationships. Over time, it creates more resilience, not just for children, but for parents too.

If parenting feels heavy or the connection feels harder than it should, Monica is our go-to therapist for supporting parents through these exact struggles in a judgement-free space with clarity and understanding. 💜

Perimenopause can bring changes that reach far beyond the physical shifts in mood, energy, focus, and emotion that can catch many women by surprise.

It’s a stage often met with silence or misunderstanding, yet it’s one that so many women try to navigate through each day.

At our recent Perimenopause & Mental Health workshop, we talked about what this stage can bring — from overwhelm and burnout to grief, reflection, and growth.

We shared how small practices like slowing down, setting boundaries, and tuning in to your body’s signals can create space for calm and self-compassion.

Therapy can also be a supportive place to process these changes. To reconnect with yourself, understand what’s shifting, and move through it with more awareness.

If you’re in this transition, you’re not alone. 💜

We’d love to hear what this stage has been like for you. What’s helped, and where you wish more support existed.
