Jim Quick

James Stanley "Jim" Quick, age 81, of Bellmead, passed away early Sunday morning, April 12, 2026 at Lakeshore Village Healthcare Center in Waco.

Per Jim's request, no services will be held. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Joyce at Gholson Cemetery.

Jim was born on August 7, 1944, in Charlottesville, Virginia, the son of Ellen (Simpson) and James S. Quick Sr. He grew up in Virginia, where he attended local schools and laid the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and craftsmanship. Jim found joy and purpose in his career as a self-employed roofing contractor. For more than 30 years, he contributed to the construction industry, building lasting relationships and a reputation for quality that resonated in the communities he served before retiring in 1990. On June 2, 2001, Jim married Joyce Rash, in Tokio. Their union was one marked by love, laughter, and partnership until Joyce's untimely passing on June 30, 2010.

Jim is also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Logan.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, many friends, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gholson Cemetery Association.
