Get Crafty at Hart House

Get Crafty at Hart House Hands-on Free Craft Workshops at Hart House Get creative, get empowered, get crafty! We provide everything: tools, materials and even tea.

Join us every Thursday from 3-4pm for free drop-in sessions & workshops on Zoom and Instagram Live. Learn basic skills for a variety of crafts including sewing, papercraft, collage, printing, painting & more. Or, bring whatever you are working on and hang out in a big comfy chair, trade tips with other crafters, and catch up with some old friends and meet new ones over all things crafty. Get Crafty is your weekly craft interlude on the U of T campus. It’s your opportunity to take a break and de-stress. These quick and cool crafts add a little creativity to your day. Accessibility: Get Crafty is held in Hart House’s Reading Room, which is wheelchair accessible. Parking and an accessible ramp are located on Tower Road on the west side of the building. Once up the ramp, make a left turn through the doors. Directly in front of you at the end of the hall will be the Reading Room. The accessible, gender-neutral washroom is located on the first floor at the east end of the main hallway, directly across from the Great Hall. Another day, another wonderful Get Crafty activity!

This week, we Got Crafty making beautiful creations with African textiles. Our Crafters showed off their unique POV's, creating everything from abstract works, to self portraits, to typography-esque works!! 🧡🌿

Hey Get Crafty folks!!!

This past week, our creators made wonderful, looks-really-impressive-but-is-easy-once-you-get-it Victorian puzzle purses!!! 💌💌

At Get Crafty, we're all stars ✨🌟

This week at Get Crafty, we had the super fun experience of Willow Star weaving! Using sustainably sourced Willow, our students made beautiful willow stars to decorate their homes, offices, lockers, you name it!!!! ✳️✴️

This week, our students got into the Christmas spirit and de-stressed with our 3D snowflakes ❄️🏂

Another week, another Get Crafty Recap 😺✨
This week we all went into chill mode while making watercolour holiday gift tags 🌨️💕

Using watercolour, paper, and their imagination, our students showed us you can do anything you put your mind to, using just a little bit of water and some pretty paint 🎨

Want to get into the holiday spirit and forget about the 73737384959 things that are due? (Dw, I'm in the exact same boat) Join us next week at Get Crafty and forget about the two million things that are due, at least for a little while. 💫🫟

This week's Get Crafty was a special one, as we collaborated with to hold a Quillwork workshop 🦔🌀

Using porcupine quills, of which were lovingly collected and prepared, all of our participants aided in creating a communal art piece 🎨 inspired by the beautiful work brought by our facilitators, Kristina Burton and Jess Howard, everyone collaborated, created, and learned something new!! ✨

Do you love arts and crafts and want to keep learning something new? Well, join us every Thursday, 11-1 and get to create, collaborate and experience the relaxing powers of craft 🎨🌀✨
