We are celebrating NepalAbility’s 20th year anniversary dedicated to advancing rehabilitation for people living with disabilities in Nepal. Our Garden of Hope fundraiser takes place on September 14, 2025!

We are sharing stories called Changing Lives: These are stories of patients treated at United Mission Hospital Tansen (UMHT) supported by NepalAbility’s medical and allied health volunteers. Stories that underscore how the lack of financial access to hospitals in rural Nepal impact immediate medical treatment. They also illustrate how rehabilitation can change lives.

Meet Prakash
Prakash (pseudonym) was 19 when he contracted tubercular meningitis while working in India which left him with severe physical and cognitive impairments.​

Bikram (pseudonym) is a 50-year-old rural farmer who sustained a spinal cord injury when he fell from a mountain height. He could not afford to seek treatment for his injuries and was bed bound for 14 months, dependent on his wife for his daily care needs.
