I always felt defined by my mental health but I decided to put a spin on it. Borderline Fit means some weeks I’m going hardcore at the gym, and the next week I want to be a potato 🥔 😹

I’m a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist, Hypnotherapist, Personal Trainer and Functional Movement Specialist with over 8 years of teaching movement practices. After a car accident in 2010, I discovered the incredible healing power of yoga. It helped me overcome chronic pain and ignited a passion within. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to sharing the transformative benefits of yoga and movement with others. I became a Registered Massage Therapist in February 2024. Completed my 200HR Yoga Teacher Training in 2020 with DownwardDog Yoga Centre and gained confidence to begin my teaching journey through a 14-week Soulga Sangha Mentorship Program with Soulga Yoga & Wellness. I believe that by getting into the body we can get out of our heads and tap into our intuition. Join me as we nurture our bodies, minds, and spirits together through the power of breath, music and movement. Offers:
- Online personal training programs
- Kickboxing
- Private and group Yoga Classes

Food is medicine and we weren’t taught to use it as such.
Here are the foods and supplements I wish I knew I needed years ago.

🍫 Dark chocolate:

Dark chocolate may help ease menstrual cramps due to its high magnesium content.

Choose quality stuff: dark chocolate with 70% or higher cocoa content.

🥬 Dark leafy Greens:

* Leafy green vegetables such as kale and spinach can boost your iron levels.
* dark green leafy vegetables act as antioxidants in the body

🫖 Raspberry leaf (tea):

* Red raspberry leaves contain fragarine This compound makes uterine muscles contract, and strengthen.
* Vitamin B6, found in red raspberry leaves, is a fighter of all things PMS, including mood changes and irritability.

🥒 Pickles:

Specifically pickle juice has been tested and shown to help reduce and relieve cramp duration.

🧡 Ginger:

Ginger has anti-inflammatory effects, which can soothe achy muscles.

Ginger may also reduce nausea🤢

Caution ⚠️ : Consuming more than 4 grams in one day could cause heartburn and stomachaches

💊 Magnesium:

* Taken daily, magnesium may prevent dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps)
* It works by relaxing the smooth muscle of the uterus and by reducing the prostaglandins that cause period pain
* BONUS: Magnesium is also great for for stress and relieving muscle cramps

Oatmeal:
* Provides antioxidants.
* Promotes healthy bacteria in your gut.
* high in zinc and magnesium

Greek yogurt 🍦:

* Yogurt is also rich in magnesium and other essential nutrients, like calcium

Don’t be afraid of full fat yogurts!

Yogurt isn’t the only probiotic-rich food with yeast-fighting benefits. If you’re avoiding dairy, kombucha tea is a great fermented food that’s more widely available, but avoid Try to avoid kombucha drinks that contain too much sugar.

Tumeric:

* known as an anti-inflammatory spice, and curcumin is its main active ingredient.

Add these foods and supplements into your daily routine or a few weeks before your period to make your time of the month a lot smoother.

I’m gonna be REALLY honest right now…

My mental health is still pretty bad.

I still put so much pressure on myself to do well, to do more, to be consistent, that sometimes I can’t even breathe. 😩

I’m trying so hard —everyday— to not equate my worth to my body, my income, whether I can pass a standardized test, my career or friendships.

I’m still learning to take myself less seriously and just enjoy life.
I still don’t have the best grasp on my emotions somedays ♋️ ☀️ ♓️ 🌙

I still turn to food as my only source of happiness some days.

I hate my body some days.

I still hate myself more than I’d like to.

I miss people — some who I shouldn’t/don’t want to miss 😔

I’m still lonely and don’t feel like I deserve good things sometimes.

When I look at this year, it doesn’t necessarily meet my definition of a good year. But maybe I’m not giving myself enough credit for how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown this year.
I’m smarter. I’m stronger —both physically and mentally—, I’m healthier, I’m whole.

I feel like I’ve healed this year, yet somehow feel more lost

I’m more ME than I’ve ever been and I have a lot of good people to thank for that. And me, thank you me.

I had to take a moment and go backwards and look at all the good that happened this year. It’s so easy to get caught up on the gaps and downfalls

Dear 2022, thank you for another year of my life.

I hope you stay safe during this time. I know how hard the holidays can be and you shouldn’t have to suffer in silence or alone.

Sometimes “just checking in” isn’t enough. Make your people not feel like burdens, show them they aren’t.
Stay safe. Be kind 🖤✨
