Oceanside Chiropractic Oceanside Chiropractic is a family practice with emphasis on prenatal and pediatric care. Dr. Heather Hunscher is a licensed Chiropractor in Rhode Island.

She grew up in Salem, NH where her journey to becoming a doctor started as a chiropractic patient 24 years ago. The day her father brought her to see a chiropractor was the day that changed her life forever. Chiropractic dramatically changed her life by improving her immune system to allow her to overcome asthma, allergies, and recurrent bronchial and sinus infections as well as eliminating 10 years worth of headaches neck pain, back pain and knee pain. Prior to becoming a chiropractic patient, Dr. Heather aspired to be a pediatrician so she could help children. She felt as though the medical profession had failed her and she never wanted another child to feel the hopelessness she had experienced. She vowed she would do everything possible to bring health and hope to as many children as she could. The transformation in Dr. Heather's health, from that very first adjustment, changed her mind from wanting to be a pediatrician to wanting to be a chiropractor. The journey towards becoming a chiropractor began with a high school internship with her chiropractor and mentor. Upon graduating from Saint Anselm College with her Bachelors Degree, she attended the Fountain Head of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Upon graduation from chiropractic school, 8 years after her first adjustment, Dr. Heather returned to NH to bring wellness to the community she had grown up in. In 2009, Dr. Heather and her husband moved to Oahu, Hawaii where she practiced for 4½ years in the North Shore. Dr. Hunscher’s passion has been working with the pediatric and maternity populations. She is Webster Technique certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and has also earned her Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP), a comprehensive 200-hour post-doctoral education designed to expand professional ability in adjusting techniques, evaluation, and assessment of different stages of development: from pregnancy, birth, and infancy throughout childhood. When not at her office taking care of patients, Dr. Heather can be found with her husband, Brendan, her daughter, Savannah and her sons, Ryan and Liam. Dr. Heather Hunscher has been assisting people achieve their maximum goals of health in Westerly, RI since 2013. As a Chiropractor with experience, Dr. Hunscher is committed to promoting the health and well being of her patients throughout the community

Many ask why we chose Halloween to celebrate our patients and have some fun in our office with costume contests and coloring contests. Halloween just happens to fall right between two very special dates; October 19th and November 4th. October 19th marked 18 years since Dr. Heather graduated chiropractic school and November 4th marks 12 years since Oceanside Chiropractic opened in Westerly! So for the month of October, we celebrate and have some fun to show our appreciation to all of you for allowing Dr. Heather and Oceanside Chiropractic to continue to grow and serve our community.

As I reflect on the past 18 years, 12 of them here in Westerly, I am consumed with gratitude for you all allowing me to be a part of your lives and helping to create a happier and healthier you. Thank you for letting me laugh with you, cry with you, celebrate your wins with you, comfort you at your lows, be an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and thank you for helping me create a safe place for all of these things to happen. Thank you for sharing your children with me and entrusting them into my care. I truly care for each and every one of them as if they were my own. My day isn’t complete without the baby smiles, toothless grins, slimy high fives, baby and toddler hugs, feeling baby move in mom’s belly, watching your children walk and talk for the first time or run over to my table for the first time. It never gets old. It is my greatest joy watching your children grow and experience life healthier and happier.
