Our Galentine’s Day event at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant was a celebration of friendship at its best. Guests enjoyed a chef-prepared lunch and plenty of festive fun, all while connecting with incredible women. A wonderful day spent in even better company!

Nothing brightens our day quite like a visit from our furry friends. Residents at Ohio Living Quaker Heights were all smiles as therapy dogs stopped by to share tail wags, gentle cuddles, and plenty of love.

Louis has been building a legacy in the kitchen at Ohio Living Llanfair since he was 16 years old. “I have grown up in this building,” he said, and he likes “nothing better than chatting with my residents and their families.” Louis loves the stories they tell – and the recipes they share.

One of the other things Louis appreciates about his role here is the way his co-workers all cooperate and look after one another. “We all work together as one and get the job done. When someone is down, we lift them up and try to keep things positive and have each other’s back.”

This dedication to teamwork and growth is felt throughout the entire kitchen, and Louis expressed his gratitude for how much he’s learned from his supervisor in particular. Beyond recipes, cooking from scratch, prepping food and putting it into production, “having someone who is hands-on teaching and answering questions… shows me that I can learn new things every day.”

This year, Ohio Living Quaker Heights hosted its first clinical rotation with LPN students from Hondros College of Nursing as they finish their final term!

Students have spent time each week providing care in our rehab and long-term care units, and we have received wonderful feedback about the experience. Ohio Living Quaker Heights is excited to continue this community partnership with another round of students this spring!

We’re proud to shine the spotlight on Maria, a senior at Waynesville High School who has been part of the Ohio Living Quaker Heights team for nearly seven months as an Activities Assistant. Maria loves her job and values the flexible schedule, the welcoming people, and the positive environment that make coming to work enjoyable every day. Through her experience, she’s learned the importance of being herself and showing patience and kindness to others—lessons that serve her well both at work and in life. After graduation, Maria plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in Sonography, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she’ll accomplish.
