If you're considering me as a provider, it might help you to know a bit more about me.
I am 44 years old. I grew up in Westerville, across the street from Highlands Pool on Knebworth Court. My parents built that house the year I was born, in 1981. I was married to my husband in the backyard there in 2002. I was devastated when my parents sold the house in 2003 to retire to Arizona.
I have been married for 23 years to my husband, Ron. We're as different as can be. He has the brain of an engineer and rarely expresses much emotion about anything. I am all sorts of emotions, all the time!
I have an 18 yo son and 15 yo daughter. My son is graduating this year. He has autism, and so graduation looks very different for us than for others. We're not sure what he's graduating "to" quite yet.
I finished nursing school in 2002, became a NP in the NICU in 2010, and became board certified in psychiatry in 2018. I practice in both disciplines, and might always do so. Sometimes we don't have to choose between things we enjoy!
I love to read. I read all sorts of things, but my favorite genre is historical fiction. Kate Quinn and Stephanie Dray don't know it yet, but I am the best friend they are missing from their lives.
In Westerville, I am most likely to be found at Kroger, Half Price Books, Dollar Tree, or the thrift store. I walk everywhere with purpose, and always look like I'm in a hurry. Don't be put off by that. I promise I am approachable!
I love nail polish (see previous comment about Dollar Tree, as in my opinion, the best nail polish is purchased there).
I love paper crafts, particularly scrapbooking. I used to teach scrapbooking and cardmaking classes and hope to return to that someday.
When we travel, I am the most likely person to need to find the next rest stop, and the most likely person to be complaining about being hungry.
I love sunsets. Bad weather does not much bother me. You should never play Clue with me- I will win, every time. I love my coffee black. I love art supplies, carbohydrates, and movies from the 1990s. I rarely watch tv. I had very few friends growing up, but I have absolutely amazing friends in adulthood. I love to learn new things and meet new people. I hate noisy restaurants, lying, a messy kitchen, an unmade bed, and all signs in bathrooms that say, "Employees Must Wash Hands Before Returning to Work." That makes my mind go places I do not want it to go. And let's face it. If you need the sign, you're not washing your hands anyway.
If you're on the fence about seeking psychiatric care, message me. I would love nothing more than to help you find peace and contentment in your world.
