Gastric Health

Gastric Health We help gastric bypass and gastric sleeve patients get healthy, lose weight and achieve your goals. Unfortunately, after the "honey moon" phase ends.

Many patients can experience digestive issues such as bloating, cravings, heartburn and indigestion. If ignored, misdiagnosed or left untreated these issues often result in loss of sleep, weight regain and cause patients to feel as if they need a revision. We provide free courses, counseling, and membership programs designed to help patients first get healthy and then lose weight, not lose weight to get healthy.

DGL improves heartburn after gastric surgery

DGL is deglycyrrhizinated licorice. It is an herb that helps protect the stomach by promoting mucous secretions.

DGL's mode of action is different than acid suppressing medications. In fact, rather than inhibiting the release of acid, it stimulates the normal defense mechanisms. This prevents ulcer formation & stimulates healling of the damaged mucous membranes.

Specifically, DGL increases...
-blood supply to the damaged mucosa
-number of cells producing mucus
-amount of mucus produced
-the lifespan of the intestinal cells

In several head-to-head comparison studies, DGL was shown to be MORE effective than Tagamet, Zantac or antacids. In the short-term and maintenance of peptic ulcers.

So if you're struggling with heartburn after gastric sleeve or gastric bypass surgery DGL is an excellent option to consider!
