Rehoming Lucy š¾
This is one of the hardest things Iāve ever had to write. I have never rehomed a dog before, and this decision has not come easily.
Lucy has had a complicated and heartbreaking journey. She was born into a dog fighting situation and was intended to be used as bait. We adopted her as a puppy through a rescue that is no longer in operation, hoping to give her the life she deserved.
From the beginning, Lucy struggled to settle into our home. She never fully bonded with our family or our other dog. Over time, we realized the challenges werenāt just situationalāLucy truly needs to be the only dog in the home.
A few years ago, we moved Lucy into our in-law apartment, where she lived with my mom. For the first time, Lucy found her person. They bonded deeply and were so happy together. When my mom passed away less than a year later, Lucy was left heartbroken and alone.
Eventually, a tenant moved in, and once again, Lucy found connection and companionship. They lived happily together for nearly three yearsāuntil recently, when the tenant moved out and left Lucy behind.
Now Lucy is alone again, and itās clear she deserves more than this.
Lucy is 8 years old. She is incredibly loving, loyal, and bonds deeply with her person. She does well with cats but must be the only dog in the home. She needs stability, patience, and someone who will truly be her forever.
If you or someone you know might be the right fit for Lucy, please reach out. Sharing this post would also mean so much.
We just want to find her the homeāand the personāsheās been searching for her whole life š¤
