RBTs at WePlay are Forever Learners!

Last week on Friday we gathered as a team for a professional development day that included a speech training by our very own dually-certified dynamo Emily Sears, BCBA, CCC-SLP. The energy in the room was inspiring, and our team walked away with so many new tools to support the children and families we serve.

Thank you to our amazing Regional Director of Clinical Services Madeline Fletchall for coordinating such an awesome event. We’re already excited for the next one!

WePlay has the best families!

On Monday of last week we took advantage of the beautiful day by coming outside and exploring some cool construction equipment brought by one of our amazing WePlay families. We targeted real-life skills such as waiting our turn, tolerating loud noises, and staying near an adult while exploring.

We can’t wait to see more signs of spring so we can get outside and keep learning!

When young children are allowed to explore, touch, and even play with their food, they’re learning important skills. This hands-on experience helps build comfort with new textures, supports sensory exploration, and develops confidence with new foods over time.

It’s an opportunity to explore new textures. To get a little messy. To wait our turn and ask our friends for the things we need. To ask for help and learn how to handle things when they don’t go exactly as we hoped. To match the provided model—or put our own spin and flair on it! To talk about how things look, feel, and smell.

At WePlay, everything we do is a learning opportunity and a language experience.

Just like a good cup of coffee helps us start our day with focus and energy, our team is here to support children and families with the encouragement and tools they need to grow every day.

We cap off this fun-filled week by shining a lot on Xia-Gibbs Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects development, speech, sleep and more. Awareness brings understanding, and understanding brings support. We are fortunate to walk beside a superhero with XBS and Autism, and are amazed daily by his strength and perseverance.
