🎉Happy November - say hello to Clay Courtemanche!🎉
It might be the 11th month of the year, but TEN might be the number to talk about! Clay started at Swarm TEN months ago and, through consistent fitness and nutrition, he has gained TEN pounds of skeletal muscle and finished in the top TEN of the Beehive Brawl in-house competition at Swarm.
Clay said, “When Nic asked if I wanted to partner for the Beehive Brawl, my first thought was fear - I had no idea what to expect and said yes. I knew it would be hard, but as it got closer, I was feeling good. The first workout and the floater were difficult, but the last workout left me feeling like I was in some sort of different dimension…but I crawled my way to the light at the end of the tunnel. The next day, my body was trying to figure out what happened, BUT I don’t regret it! The Brawl was one of the most challenging things I've done, but it was a huge confidence boost and I will be more comfortable doing it in the future."
Clay recently hit his 100th class. He’s had PRs in his lifts, consistency with double unders and gymnastic work on the bar. 🙌 Outside of the gym, Clay loves music, plays soccer and enjoys sports. He said, “I was introduced to the band Turnstile a few years ago. They are primarily a hardcore punk band, but they have their own melodic twist that makes their style unique - I would love to see them live.”
If a genie were granting wishes, two others might be skydiving and shark cage diving. Clay said, “I’m not sure why. Both activities involve potentially plummeting towards imminent death, but the more I think about them, the more I kind of want to do it."
Clay has never broken a bone, and while he might be intrigued by the proximity to sharks and parachute safety, going on a paranormal activity hunt is off-limits! He said, “Do I believe in ghosts and spirits? I’m not entirely sure. But I do know I am not interested in finding out.”
Clay, we love your commitment to health, fitness and adventure both in and out of the gym! 💯 Keep showing up - the changes are happening because YOU put in the work!
