Corona Virus, COVID-19, Highly contagious and can be fatal to some. This reminds us of when AIDS came out in the early '80's. People panicking and thought the world was coming to an end. Fortunately, we are here today proving the hysteria then was wrong and uncalled for. Since that time, we have learned a lot about disease and contamination. Dentists have been very careful in treatment room disinfection and sterilization protocols for their safety and the safety of their staff and patients. Those procedures have worked well to control the spread of disease and will continue to do so with the Corona Virus. However, due to the nature of this virus, additional measures should be taken by all. In addition to the treatment rooms, we are disinfecting other areas of the office that were generally ignored by all...door k***s, pens, counters, waiting room seats. etc. Health officials have been asking people to stay home, don't go to large gatherings etc. Many schools are closed. Many sports have been cancelled as have been meetings and conventions. Theater and movies have halted.
While we remain open, we ask for consideration of others. No one knows where you have been or who you were in contact with or who they were in contact with and if they were exposed to the Corona Virus. If you have the Corona Virus or suspicious of having it or are sick, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, please call to reschedule We would not be able to treat you if you have those symptoms..even before the Corona Virus came out. No sense in coming in if we then must tell you to reschedule. To minimize risk, please leave your entourage at home. Don't bring your young, at-risk children with you, but leave them with a baby sitter or friend. There is no reason for them to be put at risk waiting with others in the reception area. The same is true for elderly parents. If you are not in pain, safety first. Reschedule for when you can get someone to watch them. Why do patients bring grandparents to watch grandchildren at the office? Leave them at home. They will be happier.
We all hope for a quick end to this pandemic and wish everyone good health.
