Pedicure Tip #4

Use a pumice stone, foot file or exfoliating scrub when eliminating thick, dead skin build-up, also known as calluses, on the heel, ball and sides of the feet. Be sure to soak your feet in warm water for at least five minutes and then use the stone, scrub, or foot file.

Have you soaked your feet in Epsom salt lately? Add 1/2 a cup of Epsom salt to a tub or basin of warm water to enjoy the benefits of this treatment! Soaking will help temporarily relieve pain by removing toxins that cause inflammation and irritation. It will assist in fighting off fungal infections by drawing the infection out. For a refreshing boost, add a few drops of peppermint or tea tree oil to the water. Use the salt itself as a natural way to exfoliate dry, cracked feet and heels. Don't forget to dry your feet well and moisturize with your favorite product afterwards! Be sure to consult a podiatrist before using Epsom salt for any of these reasons to ensure safe and proper use.

Pedicure Tip #3

Don't allow salons to use a foot razor to remove dead skin. Using a razor can result in permanent damage if used incorrectly and can easily cause infection if too much skin is removed.
