At Ahava Hospice, we understand that end-of-life care can be a challenging and emotional time for both patients and their loved ones. Our experienced licensed nurses play a multifaceted role in hospice care. They serve as primary caregivers, providing hands-on medical attention and ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients facing terminal illnesses. Our nurses will assess and manage pain and other symptoms, administer medications, and provide and collaborate with physicians to develop patient-centered care plans. These caring individuals also educate families about the patient’s condition, provide guidance on caregiving techniques, and facilitate open communication.

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻 Staying healthy during all the spooky fun starts with good hand hygiene! Be sure to wash your hands after using the restroom and before and after eating—even when enjoying candy!

Proper handwashing: Wet your hands, lather with soap, and scrub for 20–30 seconds (hum “Happy Birthday” twice!). Rinse, dry, and turn off the faucet with a paper towel. Using hand sanitizer? Make sure it’s at least 60% alcohol and rub until dry.

We want to wish everyone a safe, fun-filled, and germ-free Halloween! 🧡

At Ahava Hospice, we’ve started a special Sand Project to honor the lives of our patients who have passed away. Each time a patient is remembered, we add a layer of multicolored sand to our vase. Over time, the vase will be filled with beautiful layers, each representing a life that touched our hearts. 💙💜

During our meetings, we take a moment to say a few words about each patient and add their layer of sand as a symbol of remembrance. This meaningful tradition allows us to reflect on the lives we’ve been blessed to care for and the lasting impact they leave behind.
