What is Sahaja Yoga?

The source of inner peace lies in our own hearts. But, the only problem is that our attention is normally unable to reach it, instead getting distracted constantly by objects and thoughts. However, there exists in our own nervous system a mechanism of chakras to allow our attention to reach the source of inner peace. Sahaja Yoga is the technique of effortlessly activating and maintaining this inbuilt mechanism to be connected to this peace in our daily lives.

The coiled energy called as Kundalini is awakened using a simple technique of affirmations and the practitioner feels a sense of physical and mental relaxation to begin with. As they begin to go further with the technique, the experience of meditation deepens to a state of thought-less awareness where one is fully aware but in the absence of the cascade of thoughts. Over time, one learns through experience how to handle the mechanism of the subtle system and finally become one with the source of peace itself.

The technique of Sahaja Yoga is best learnt through practice and we encourage you to join the nearest class or online meeting to begin or continue with your journey to inner peace. Founded in 1970 by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga has since spread around the world in an effort to grant the most fundamental of rights to human beings - the right to inner peace, at no cost or membership. Volunteers donate their money and time to help spread the knowledge of this technique to others.
