Because... they’re not in a deficit.
- they may be in a deficit on weekdays without realising their gluttonous weekends undo their progress
- they may have a very low maintenance calorie amount from prolonged dieting, therefor requiring a diet break or ‘reverse diet’ to get themselves into a better place to diet
- they may underestimating their calorie consumption, when people begin to track their intake its often a lot more food than they’d recite from memory
- they may be exercising more to lose weight, without realising they’re eating more to compensate
- thyroid disorder, menopause, PCOS, medication etc negating their daily energy expenditure therefor requiring much lower calorie targets to elicit fat loss.
Lots of wankers say “calorie deficits don’t work.” Oh, they do, by definition.
Whenever it looks like they’re not working, it’s often because people are not in... a calorie deficit.
