💫 Heather’s Deep Plane Facelift Journey - 4 Months Post-Op

Four months after surgery, Heather is finally in the phase where everything feels more settled, and what she’s noticing the most is how beautifully her facelift incisions are healing.

The incisions in front of her ears blended nicely into the natural creases that she actually forgot she had them there. The incisions behind the ear, and the small incision under the chin are also healing well. This is exactly what we aimed for.

Here’s what she underwent:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Upper Blepharoplasty
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ CO2 Laser Resurfacing
✅ Removal of Permanent Threads

🧠 At four months, most facelift incisions begin to blend beautifully into the natural lines of the face and hairline. Pinkness fades, texture softens and the areas become harder to see even up close. Healing continues over the first year, and month by month the incisions refine even more.

Heather, thank you for letting others learn from your experience. ❤️

✨ Heather’s Deep Plane Facelift Journey - 3 Months Post-Op 👀

Three months out from her deep plane facelift, Heather is finally reaching the point where everything is settling, but what makes her story so important is how honest she’s been about the emotional reality of recovery.

It’s easy to compare yourself to others who healed quickly, but that’s not for everyone. In Heather’s case, she’s had multiple non-surgical treatments - thread lifts, Ultherapy, Morpheus8 treatments, FaceTite and MyEllevate procedures that made her surgery more complex. Her healing simply needed more time.

Heather’s honesty matters. It’s normal to have moments of doubt, frustration, impatience, and worry - especially when you’re looking at your face every day and expecting visible change. And that’s a feeling facelift patients may quietly struggle with but don’t openly talk about. Deeper healing takes time.

This is the emotional part of facelift recovery - the ups and downs, the plateaus, the comparison, the doubt, and then the relief when you start recognizing yourself again. And it’s all part of the journey.

Here’s what she underwent:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Upper Blepharoplasty
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ CO2 Laser Resurfacing
✅ Removal of Permanent Threads

🧠 Facelift recovery is not just physical - it’s deeply emotional.
You heal in phases, and at times your face may look puffy, uneven, or unfamiliar as you heal. Most patients feel presentable by 6 to 8 weeks, many look great by 3 months, and the final refinement continues over the first full year. Everyone’s journey is different. Patience and giving yourself time are part of the process.

Heather, thank you for being vulnerable and courageous in sharing your story. ❤️

✨ 2.5 Months After Facelift 🔥 - Incisions and the Real Downtime Timeline

This beautiful patient wanted to restore balance to her lower face and neck while softening the fine lines and aging signs around her mouth. She also felt that her upper lip had lengthened over time and that she’d lost the natural volume that once framed her smile.

To address this, I performed a deep plane facelift and deep neck lift to lift and redefine her jawline and address the loose skin and laxity in her neck. I also combined a subnasal lip lift and corner lip lift to shorten and elevate the upper lip naturally, along with lip augmentation using mastoid fascia graft (taken from behind the ear), facial fat transfer, dermabrasion to the lip border, and CO2 laser resurfacing to improve her skin quality and texture.

At 2.5 months, her swelling has softened beautifully, and her results are starting to settle into place. Her neckline is smoother, her lower face is lifted, and the lip area has a more balanced proportion again - youthful but age-appropriate look! Her incisions healed well.

🧠 Understanding Facelift Downtime
Facelift recovery happens in stages — and patience is key:
✅ Weeks 1–2: You’re swollen and bruised, but healing is active.
✅ Weeks 3–4: Swelling starts to come down, the two sides of the face don’t heal at the same rate.
✅ Weeks 6–8: Most patients feel presentable — comfortable going out, seeing friends, and resuming normal activities.
✅ 3 Months and Beyond: You look refreshed and natural, though subtle refinements continue over the first year as tissues fully settle.

At 2.5 months, this patient is right in that transformation window — confident, radiant, and glowing as her final definition continues to refine.

I am so ecstatic for her amazing transformation and grateful for her sharing! ❤️

💫 Kendall’s Deep Plane Facelift Journey — 3.5 Months Post-Op

At 3.5 months out, Kendall (47) looks radiant, natural, and confident. She looked like she lost some weight but it was only a few pounds. All of the deep neck work and contouring I’ve done, along with the deep plane facelift created the sharper jawline and neck that she was looking for.

Many patients ask, “When will I look presentable?” and Kendall’s timeline is a great example of how facelift recovery unfolds. The swelling has softened, the contours look natural, and the face starts to truly glow. But a facelift takes a full year to completely settle. The final refinements and subtle changes continue as the tissues relax and integrate.

We also addressed old filler under her eyes before surgery - filler she didn’t even realize was still there. I dissolved filler prior to surgery and replaced that volume with her own fat, which integrates naturally and creates softer transitions.

What Kendall underwent:
✔️ Deep Plane Facelift
✔️ Deep Neck Lift
✔️ Deep Neck Contouring
✔️ Endoscopic Brow Lift
✔️ Facial Fat Transfer
✔️ Lobuloplasty

🧠 Facelift recovery happens in phases. Time and patience are necessary.
✅ 4–6 Weeks: You look presentable and feel comfortable in some social settings.
✅ 3 Months: The swelling fades and results look smoother and natural.
✅ 1 Year: Final refinement — the skin, fat, and deeper tissues fully settle.

Kendall’s journey reminds us that great results come from patience, trust, and precision - not speed. Thank you Kendall for sharing your story! ♥️

Deep Plane Facelift at 47 🔥 - Kendall’s Facelift Transformation 💫

At 47, Kendall wanted to address:
➡️ Heaviness in her jawline
➡️ Sagging in the lower face
➡️ Looseness in her neck
➡️ Heaviness in the brows

💡Am I Too Early To Have a Facelift? This is one of the most Frequently Asked Questions I get asked at my consultations.

I explain to my patients that age is a biological date. The rate of aging differs for each person based on many factors that will ultimately determine the true age of your tissues. Some of the factors could be the amount of sun exposure you’ve had, genetics, weight loss, effects of menopause or hormonal changes, etc.

Kendall wanted to a comprehensive approach in addressing her aging changes. She wanted to look natural and was open to all of my recommendations. We discussed that our goal with surgery was to rebuild her structure.

👩🏻‍⚕️In Kendall’s case, no filler, skin tightening device, or radio-frequency (RF) type of treatment can truly address her concerns because of the amount of laxity she already had. She tried fillers, but it ended up contributing more heaviness especially in her lower face.

What I Recommended:
✔️ Deep Plane Facelift
✔️ Deep Neck Lift
✔️ Deep Neck Contouring
✔️ Endoscopic Brow Lift
✔️ Facial Fat Transfer
✔️ Lobuloplasty

A facelift is not about looking different. It’s about restoring what time and gravity have changed, so your face reflects how you truly feel on the inside.

Thank you, Kendall, for sharing your story! You have such a vibrant energy and you look stunning!! 🔥😍

✨ Why Can't I Have A Neck Lift Alone? ✨

Most of the time, what you actually need isn’t just a neck lift, it’s a facelift. 👀

Here’s why. When patients notice sagging skin in the neck, under the chin or along the jawline, they often assume the problem is isolated to the neck. But the truth is, the neck and face age together. In most cases, I cannot chase all of the excess skin and looseness, and the result can look unnatural if I do not chase in an upward direction. The neck might look tight, but the jawline and cheeks will still appear heavy or sagging.

The most natural correction comes from a lift where I pull in an upward direction towards the ears - repositioning the deeper layers of the face and neck together in harmony. That’s what a deep plane facelift does.

So when patients tell me, “I just want my neck done,” I often find that what they’re really seeking is the balance that a combination of a facelift and neck lift can create. It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing it right, so the result looks seamless and natural.

✨ What Happens If You Have Filler Left in Your Face Before a Facelift? 👀 ✨

Here’s what most people don’t realize: old filler can affect your facelift results and your recovery. 👀

When I perform deep plane facelift surgery and discover filler that hasn’t fully dissolved, it often spreads into the deeper planes of the face — and sometimes sits just beneath the skin. That leftover filler can attract water, cause prolonged swelling, and mask the true contours I’m lifting underneath.

Patients sometimes wonder why their swelling lasts longer than expected or why one area feels “full” — and it’s often because residual filler is still holding onto fluid within the tissue. Even when it’s not visible on the surface, it can alter how the skin drapes and delay healing.

That’s why I dissolve filler as much as possible before surgery — and, if needed, remove or dissolve filler during the procedure itself. Starting with a cleaner foundation allows me to lift the natural structures precisely and helps patients heal faster with smoother, more predictable results.

Filler can last far longer than most expect, sometimes 5 to more than 10 years. If you’ve had filler in the past and are considering a facelift surgery, it’s very important for me to know your history and the areas where you've had it. I also ask for photos of your younger self so that I have an idea what your natural features and anatomy look like before any nonsurgical treatments, so I know how to prepare for surgery and also give you realistic expectations on what to expect.

✨ Kendall’s Deep Plane Facelift Journey — 1 Month Post-Op 👀 ✨

At one month post-op, Kendall (47) is moving through one of the most important and often misunderstood stages of facelift recovery: the plateau. 👀

The bruising is gone, her swelling has softened, and her jawline is taking shape, but now progress feels slower. She put it perfectly: “When you look at your face every day, you don’t see much change. But when you look at the photos, you realize how far you’ve come.”

This stage can be tricky emotionally. The dramatic daily changes of early recovery slow down, and patients start focusing on smaller details — tightness, subtle asymmetry, or muscle movement. Kendall noticed one side of her smile still feels a bit tight, but it’s already improving as the facial muscles reawaken and reconnect.

Her photos from 2 weeks to 1 month show steady progress — sharper jawline, smoother neck contour, and more natural facial motion returning. As I remind every patient, it takes a full year for all the deeper layers to completely settle and soften into their final result.

Here’s what she underwent:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Deep Neck Contouring
✅ Endoscopic Brow Lift
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ Lobuloplasty

🧠 EDUCATION MOMENT:
Healing after a facelift happens in phases. Most patients feel like they hit a temporary plateau where swelling improves more slowly, and daily changes become less noticeable. This is when photo check-ins are powerful reminders of real progress.

Kendall’s trust and patience show what true recovery looks like — not rushed, not forced, just steady progress toward her natural, refreshed outcome. ❤️

🙏 Thank you, Kendall, for continuing to share your recovery so we can continue to learn about the process.

✨ Kendall’s Deep Plane Facelift Journey — 2 Weeks Post-Op 👀 ✨

Two weeks out from surgery, Kendall (47) is learning one of the hardest parts of facelift recovery: Patience. 👀

She’s navigating what every patient experiences — asymmetric healing. The two sides of the face do not heal at the exact same rate. Kendall’s left side had a small seroma we drained, so it’s a bit puffier than the left. Bruising is fading, swelling is improving, and both sides will soon meet up.

This was a full facial rejuvenation — a deep plane facelift, deep neck lift and contouring, endoscopic brow lift, fat grafting, and lobuloplasty — so slower recovery in the first few weeks is expected.
Kendall said it best: “My body’s different from what someone else has gone through. Just knowing that it’s all OK.” Her perspective is exactly what helps patients heal with confidence - no comparison, just trust in the process.

Kendall is naturally active. She plays tennis and soccer, loves the outdoors, so slowing down has been hard. But she’s resting, reading, and taking walks as her energy returns, and every day her face looks softer as swelling comes down.

Here’s what she underwent:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Deep Neck Contouring
✅ Endoscopic Brow Lift
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ Lobuloplasty

🧠 EDUCATION MOMENT:
Healing happens in phases, not all at once. Swelling, firmness, and unevenness are normal at this stage, especially after having multiple procedures. One side might heal faster and by 4 to 6 weeks, most patients feel more like themselves.

Recovery is both physical and mental — rest is part of the work. ❤️

✨ Am I Too Late for a Deep Plane Facelift? 👀 ✨

I’ve operated on patients into their 80s, and they’ve done beautifully. When it comes to facelift surgery, age is one factor. What matters is also the quality of your tissues and your overall health.

If the skin has lost elasticity and the deeper tissues have become thin or fragile, I often need to combine a deep plane facelift with additional procedures — such as fat transfer or laser resurfacing — to rebuild support and smooth the surface. But age alone is not a deciding factor. I’ve had older patients with better skin quality.

The real deciding factors are:
✅ Tissue quality — how strong and resilient the deeper layers are.
✅ Skin health — whether the surface can recover and contract well.
✅ Overall wellness — patients must be healthy enough for anesthesia and recovery.

When these factors are checked, I can perform a deep plane facelift even for someone in their late 70s or 80s. 💕

✨ Kendall’s Facelift Journey - 1 Week Post-Op ✨

Kendall is 47 and is one week out from surgery. She’s doing well and has been coming in for her hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments at our office. She felt good enough to be out and sit by the pool just days after surgery with her hat, sunglasses, and all! At one week, I removed her sutures. We talked about making sure she’s getting movement and walking at least an hour a day.

She said it best: “It didn’t hurt per se — just pressure. I wasn’t exactly comfortable, but there was no pain.” Kendall recovered comfortably at home.

What Kendall had:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Deep Neck Contouring
✅ Endoscopic Brow Lift
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ Lobuloplasty

🧠 A deep plane facelift lifts the deeper facial layers — not just the skin — creating natural, longer-lasting rejuvenation. When paired with an endoscopic brow lift and fat grafting, it restores harmony between the upper and lower face and neck.

✨ Kendall’s Facelift Journey Begins ✨

At 47, Kendall came to me feeling like her face was aging faster than she was. She is seeing heaviness in her lower face and jawline and looseness in her neck and strong platysmal bands. Kendall shared that her eyes used to look more open and her brows now feel heavier. She wanted to get ahead of the aging changes and was wondering if she is pursuing surgery too early.

She’d done Botox and filler over the years, but over time, the filler added bulk and was weighing down her lower face. Before surgery, I dissolved the filler in certain areas of her face.

Our goal was to rebuild her structure - not change her, but bring her back to where it feels like her again. 💕

Every journey is customized. From her consultation to the final surgical markings, Kendall’s plan evolved with precision - designed to deliver a refreshed, undetectable result that honors her natural beauty.

Kendall, your beauty has always shined through even before surgery. Thank you for sharing your story and allowing us to follow along in your journey! ❤️

Here’s what she’s about to undergo:
✅ Deep Plane Facelift
✅ Deep Neck Lift
✅ Deep Neck Contouring
✅ Endoscopic Brow Lift
✅ Facial Fat Transfer
✅ Lobuloplasty

🧠 A deep plane facelift repositions the deeper layers of the face, not just the skin. When combined with a brow lift, it restores both lower and upper facial harmony - lifting heaviness around the jawline and eyes at once.

Procedures like fat transfer and lobuloplasty refine the details — replacing lost volume and restoring proportions subtly for a result that looks refreshed, never “done.”
