Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere because systems do not exist in isolation. Harm in one place ripples outward and silence allows it to spread.
At Strive, we believe mental health care and social justice are deeply connected. Trauma does not happen in a vacuum. Oppression, racism, inequality, and violence impact nervous systems, families, and communities every day. Honoring Dr. King’s legacy means not only remembering his words, but continuing the work of listening, protecting dignity, and advocating for care that is accessible, affirming, and rooted in equity.
Justice is not passive. Healing is not neutral. And care should never require people to shrink themselves to survive.
Today we honor Dr. King by committing to compassion paired with action, reflection paired with responsibility, and care that sees the whole human experience.
