In the liminal spaces where Irish myth, ancestral memory, and the subconscious converge, lies a time when the Celtic goddess-saint Brigid, was summoned for her skills in midwifery. She was carried in the arms of angels beyond the illusion of time and space to the manger in Bethlehem. Here, she aided Mary and Joseph in delivering the infant Yeshua into the world. 👼🏾
And when King Herod sought to extinguish this prophetic newborn threat, Brigid is said to have ran wildly through the streets, distracting the soldiers, and helping the Holy Family escape to Egypt. 💃🏻
She is also responsible for coaxing the sun into the light half of the year beginning on the first day of Celtic spring - Imbolc.
Through the mystic’s lens, this folklore reveals Brigid and Mother Mary as soul sisters, embodiments of the Divine Mother who births the Light of Consciousness into form (aka you). She is the creator, the creating and the created.
When the Gaelic Celts wove the buddings of Christianity into their tapestry of paganism, they saw how Mother Mary (Mother of God) was but a reflection of their own beloved eternal goddess - the Midwife of Light. Hence, they called her - “Mary of the Gael”. 🌟
Do you feel a stirring of curiosity that is luring you to explore the transformative wisdom of our ancestors and to activate a remembrance of that which is already authentically whole, sovereign and sacred within you? And that the only difference between you, Brigid, Mary and the Christ that was birthed in Bethlehem is that they remembered? 🌀
