Today is Stress Awareness Day!

At Harris Chiropractic, we believe that your spine, nervous system and posture are key players in how your body responds to stress.

🔹 Did you know that chronic stress can lead to muscle tension, fatigue, poor sleep and even spine misalignment?

🔹 Your body needs support — both in how you move and how you manage stress.

Here are 3 simple things you can do today to help your body stay aligned and relaxed:

Take a 5-minute break and perform a gentle neck and upper back stretch (hug your arms in front, round your shoulders, drop your head and breathe…).
Use the “physiological sigh” to reset: inhale deeply, take a second small inhale, then exhale slowly. Repeat twice. (A quick trick to reduce tension and ease your nervous system.)
Check your posture: Are your shoulders rolled forward? Is your lower back slouched? Pull your shoulder blades gently back and down, keep your chin level, and take one mindful breath in that new position.

Remember: Taking care of your spine and nervous system isn’t extra — it’s part of how you manage stress well. If you’ve been feeling increased tension, headaches, neck or back discomfort, consider how your posture and alignment might be involved.

📞 If you’d like a short posture check-in or a quick adjustment to help support your body for stress relief, give us a call or book online today: https://harris-chiropractic.com/

Let’s make stress work for us, not against us.

Feeling run-down or stiff lately? Let’s talk about two powerful tools for your health: vitamin C and chiropractic care — and how combining them might just help you move better and feel stronger.

🧬 Why vitamin C matters
• Vitamin C is a vital antioxidant and co-factor for collagen production — meaning it helps build and maintain connective tissues: skin, blood vessels, bones, cartilage and more.

• It supports immune function, aids iron absorption, and helps reduce oxidative stress in the body.

• It also plays a role in healing and repair — which is super relevant for musculoskeletal health (think joints, spine and soft tissues).

• One in particular large review concluded that though not every effect is proven, vitamin C shows promise in many health areas.

➡️ Quick tip: Make sure you’re getting plenty of vitamin C from foods (citrus fruits, peppers, broccoli, berries, leafy greens) and talk with your provider if you’re considering supplements.

🦴 How chiropractic treatment helps:
• According to research, spinal manipulative therapy (a core component of chiropractic care) may be as effective as other recommended therapies for managing non-specific neck and low back pain.

• A major trial found that adding chiropractic care to usual medical care led to greater pain relief and improved physical functioning for low back pain in active-duty personnel.

• Chiropractic treatment is also associated with improved mobility, reduced pain, and better quality of life when done in a safe, appropriate manner.

🔄 Bringing them together: Why it makes sense:
Because vitamin C supports connective-tissue repair and helps reduce oxidative stress, and chiropractic care helps align, mobilize and relieve strain in the spine and musculoskeletal system — combining good nutrition (like vitamin C) with chiropractic care may help optimize recovery, support tissue health, and improve mobility more than either alone.

✔️ For example: If you’re working with a chiropractor to ease low back or neck pain, ensuring you get sufficient vitamin C could help your body make the collagen and repair substrates needed as you mobilize and strengthen.

✔️ Similarly, timely chiropractic care may help reduce mechanical strain on tissues so that your body’s repair mechanisms (in which vitamin C plays a role) can work more efficiently.

📚 Research to check out:
For vitamin C: “On the effect of vitamin C intake on human health” — a comprehensive review of how vitamin C impacts human physiology and health.
For chiropractic care: “Clinical Effectiveness and Efficacy of Chiropractic Spinal Manipulative Therapy for Neck and Low-Back Pain” — strong evidence for SMT in spine-pain management.

If you’re ready to feel better, move better, and support your body’s repair system, here’s what to do:

Check your diet — Are you getting plenty of vitamin C rich foods daily? If not, make it a goal this week to add a serving of berries or bell peppers.
Book your evaluation — If spine, neck or musculoskeletal issues are holding you back, let’s talk about whether chiropractic care is a fit for you.
Combine strategies — Let’s integrate your nutrition (including vitamin C) and your chiropractic care plan for a stronger, more resilient you.
Call or message us today to set up a consultation — we’ll discuss your goals, assess your spinal/structure health, evaluate your nutrition status, and map out a holistic plan.

Our Story

For Dr. Adam Harris, helping patients live their best life is not just part of his profession -- it’s his passion. That’s why after founding Harris Chiropractic in 2016, he made it his mission for him and his staff to implement efficient and pain-relieving treatments. As a results-driven and patient-centered clinic, we target the main issue and create a specialized plan to get you the relief you’re looking for. Not only do we correct structural or segments shifts, we also implement methods for expectant mothers, people suffering from auto accident injuries, and those with headaches or lower back, arm, shoulder, or leg pain. For us, our favorite part of the job is welcoming patients into our supportive environment and helping them heal one treatment at a time.
