OUTGROWTH n. The natural human process of expanding beyond one’s previous circumstances, environments, lifestyles or relationships.
Shedding is a natural, perennial process throughout a human’s lifetime—actually, it's a necessity for growth. But this necessary process is often (always) painful.
🌀Yet there comes a time when the pain of remaining where you are outweighs the pain of letting go and moving on. That’s when the shedding begins.
Sometimes, the shedding will happen by choice. Other times it’s by necessity. In other unfortunate times it will be brought forth by unexpected circumstances.
A Shedding Human will often find themselves in the middle of a big change in life; shifting to a new city, starting a new job, navigating a change in their relationship status, starting a new business venture or simply finding themselves in the midst of shifting the inner relationship they have with themselves.
These drastic shifts in life may leave a human feeling scared, worried about their next steps as they face the unknown.
A human in the midst of outgrowth will often reject their own transformation. That’s normal; letting go can be the scariest thing in the world.
🌀But fear is the biggest enemy of growth as it may lead a human to doubt their own need for shedding, keeping them stuck where they no longer need to be.
Ironically, this fear of transformation is what often causes the most pain. Acceptance may be one of the most difficult blessings to hold.
That’s why I’m holding an online, 2-day workshop the weekend of January 29th & 30th to support humans going through personal transformation.
“OUTGROW: A Workshop for Shedding Humans” is a space where I will be sharing somatic tools for letting go with grace and letting in with purpose.
Life changes can be messy, but the way in which you hold yourself through your outgrowth doesn’t have to be.
For more details on how to sign up, send me a DM 💫
If you’re currently shedding, don’t forget to handle yourself with care, compassion & patience. Your transformation is worth it.
