That’s a wrap on Advocacy Day!🎉

Today, 9 advocates came together to represent a truly statewide voice on Capitol Hill, bringing insights from across Maryland to the conversations that shape our workplaces.

From starting the day at SHRM HQ to a full schedule of meetings with lawmakers, we had the opportunity to elevate the HR perspective on some of today’s most critical workforce issues:

🔹 Caregiving – advancing policies that support flexibility, paid leave, and working caregivers
🔹 Artificial Intelligence – encouraging responsible innovation while protecting against bias
🔹 Education-to-Employment – strengthening pathways, apprenticeships, and skills-based hiring

We also had the chance to hear from Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, whose advocacy continues to reinforce the importance of shaping policy that supports better workplaces and a better world.

Moments like today are a powerful reminder that HR doesn’t just operate within organizations; we help influence the policies that impact people, productivity, and the future of work.

We are so grateful to be part of this effort and proud to stand alongside such passionate advocates. The conversations don’t stop here!
