When the days get shorter and temperatures drop, motivation naturally dips. But gentle movement can make a big difference for your mood, energy, and overall mental health.

Here are a few simple, realistic ways to stay active this winter:
✨ Think small. Short 5-10 minute stretches or movement “snacks” throughout the day still count.
✨ Try indoor-friendly activities. Yoga, body-weight exercises, or follow-along videos can help you move without braving the cold.
✨ Build routine anchors. Pair movement with everyday habits—after coffee, after work, before dinner.
✨ Stay connected. A friend, class, or virtual check-in can boost accountability and motivation.

Staying active isn’t about perfection. It’s about caring for your mind and body in a way that feels supportive.

Today, take a minute to enjoy something that brings you comfort, whether it’s a cookie, a walk, or a check-in with a friend.

In a world that’s constantly pinging, notifying, and demanding our attention, it can be easy to forget what silence feels like. Today, give yourself permission to step away from the noise, even if just for a few minutes.

Put your phone on “Do Not Disturb,” close your laptop, and find a quiet space. Take a deep breath in… and let it go. Notice how your shoulders relax when you intentionally slow down.

Meditation doesn’t have to be long or complicated. It’s simply an invitation to return to yourself, to your breath, your body, and your inner calm.

We are here to support your journey toward calm.

December invites us to celebrate the joy around us and the growth within us.

As we reflect on the year, may we also embrace the possibilities ahead. Your story is still unfolding, and we’re here to cheer you on every step of the way.

Do you get nervous in social situations, even when you want to connect?

You’re not alone. Social anxiety is more common than many people think. About 7.1% of U.S. adults have social anxiety disorder in a given year.

Here are a few ways to manage it:
✅ Pause and breathe – Deep, slow breaths can help calm your body.
✅ Start small – Begin with short, low-stakes social interactions.
✅ Challenge unhelpful thoughts – Notice anxious or negative predictions and gently replace them with more realistic, balanced ones.
✅ Practice self compassion – Feeling anxious doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. It’s a very human response.

Social anxiety is a challenge that (with awareness, practice, and support) you can manage.

If social anxiety is holding you back, don’t hesitate to reach out.

This Thanksgiving, we’re reflecting on gratitude, not as a pressure to “feel thankful,” but as a gentle practice that helps ground us.

Gratitude can be found in small moments: a quiet morning, a deep breath, a supportive friend, or simply making it through a tough day.

Wherever this holiday finds you, we hope you can notice one thing (big or small) that brings you a sense of peace.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Through good times and bad times, it can be challenging to discover aspects of life to be thankful for. Dr. Andy Tix (2012) explores how keeping a gratitude journal, giving thanks to someone who made a difference in your life, and savoring each moment in life, offers transformative healing to resolve negative experiences.

This Holiday week, are there are any ways we like to embody Thanksgiving as a lifestyle? :)

Clinicians, remember:

You are not just helpers. You are humans with emotions, needs, and dreams.

Rest is not a setback. Boundaries are not barriers.
Self-care is strength.

Keep showing up for yourself with the same compassion you show your clients.

About Us

As 2020 begins, I sit and contemplate the importance of therapy for families today. Where were I be personally without it? How would my children lives be different if my husband and I did not make personal growth a priority? What patterns of chaos would be happening daily in my home, in my marriage, and with the people I cherish most because of unconscious patters of dysfunction I am repeating from my own childhood because “I do not know any better.” Today, I insist on knowing better, so I can do better. That is what therapy offers to people. Have you heard the old adage, “they did the best they knew how,” as a way to reconcile how terrible older generations did at parenting. Albeit true for most, they did the best they knew how, except the best was typically abusive, traumatic, emotionally insensitive and detached. Those generational traumas being passed down decade after decade, leaving us to lean on adages like “they did they best they knew how,” as a way to cope with our own wounds. My husband and I refuse to accept the ignorance of that statement. And instead, chose on a weekly basis through our own therapy to demand a better way for us, and as an extension, our children. Grace Integrated offers to our clients a better way. Our clinicians do their own therapy, so they can help you carve out a path for your own life that is full of awareness. You no longer have to struggle, fight, and feel detached from your own life. Therapy offers a new, better way. As the founder of Grace Integrated, I advocate so fully for everyone to experience therapy because “doing the best they could,” is not best at all. Grace Integrated is a family owned and run business dedicated to healing the wounds of generations, so that we promote the new generation of best. A generation of families taught secure attachments through emotional sensitivity, parental responsiveness and unconditional love. Come and join us as it is never too late to live your best life.
