Honoring veterans means more than just gratitude — it means ensuring access to the care and support they deserve every day of the year.

Many veterans face ongoing challenges such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use — yet stigma and barriers to care can make it hard to reach out for help.

As behavioral health professionals, we can make a difference by connecting veterans with trusted resources, including:
✅ VA Mental Health Services (www.mentalhealth.va.gov)
✅ Veterans Crisis Line – Call or text 988 (Press 1)
✅ MakeTheConnection.net – Stories and support from fellow veterans

Let’s continue our mission of compassion — helping veterans find healing, resilience, and community long after their service ends. 💙

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the strength, traditions, and wisdom of Indigenous communities—and to acknowledge the ongoing work toward healing and equity.

In behavioral health, we honor the deep cultural knowledge that has long supported wellness in Native communities—connection to land, family, and spirit. These traditions remind us that healing is both individual and collective, rooted in respect and relationship.

This month, and always, we commit to learning from and uplifting Indigenous voices, ensuring that care remains inclusive, culturally grounded, and accessible for all.

This season of gratitude is also a season of giving.
Volunteer, mentor, or simply listen — small acts of kindness can have a powerful ripple effect.
When we lift others up, we strengthen our communities and our own sense of purpose.

💙 When someone we care about is struggling, we want to help — but it’s not always easy to know how. True emotional support means showing up with empathy and boundaries.

✨ Be There’s 5 Golden Rules can help you support others while protecting your own well-being:
1️⃣ Say What You See
2️⃣ Show You Care
3️⃣ Hear Them Out
4️⃣ Know Your Role
5️⃣ Connect to Help

Sometimes, the most healing thing we can do is simply be there. 💬
Let’s remember — compassion includes caring for ourselves, too.

November is a perfect time to pause and notice the good around us.
Practicing gratitude — even for small, everyday things — has been linked to lower stress, better sleep, and greater happiness.

✨ Try this: Write down three things you’re thankful for today, and notice how your mindset shifts.

Today, we honor the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans — and we reaffirm our commitment to supporting their mental health long after their service ends.

As behavioral health professionals, we play a vital role in helping veterans navigate the invisible wounds of war — from trauma and anxiety to reintegration and recovery. Compassionate, culturally competent care can make a life-changing difference.

This Veterans Day, let’s continue to listen, advocate, and provide the support every veteran deserves.

💙 To all who served — thank you.

As the days grow shorter and schedules busier, it’s easy to put self-care on the back burner. But just like nature shifts with the season, so can we — slowing down, reflecting, and restoring our energy.
🍂 This time of year is perfect for re-centering your wellness routine: spend a few minutes outside each day, practice gratitude, or create moments of calm between the chaos. Remember, caring for yourself isn’t a luxury — it’s what allows you to care for others fully and sustainably.

🗣️ Communication isn’t just about what we say — it’s also about what we see.

A glance, a posture shift, or a change in tone can say more than words ever could. By noticing these nonverbal cues, we deepen our empathy and understanding for others.

💬 Try this:
👀 Pay attention to gestures and tone.
💭 Notice when words and expressions don’t match.
💗 Reflect what you observe gently — “You seem quieter than usual; how are you feeling?”

When we listen beyond words, we remind others that they’re truly seen and heard — even in silence.

🩵 This November, during National Family Caregivers Month, we honor the incredible individuals who give so much of themselves to care for others.

Caregivers—whether family members or professionals—are the backbone of our communities. Yet many face burnout, financial strain, and emotional exhaustion. Up to 70% experience depressive symptoms, highlighting just how vital mental health support is for those who care for others.

From mindfulness programs and peer support to policies improving wages and benefits, progress is being made—but there’s still more to do.

Let’s continue to prioritize caregiver mental health so compassion remains a renewable resource in every home and community. 💙

Sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s essential.
Poor sleep doesn’t just accompany mental health issues like anxiety or depression—it can precede or worsen them. Recent research shows:

60% of U.S. adults aren’t getting enough sleep nightly

Trouble falling asleep 3+ nights a week affects nearly 40% of adults

People who get 7–9 hours of sleep are far more likely to report happiness, productivity, and strong social connections

A healthier night’s sleep can help protect your mood, focus, and relationships. What’s one small change you can make to your bedtime routine tonight? 🌙✨

As costumes, candy, and community events fill the day, we’re reminded how important it is to create safe, welcoming spaces for everyone—whether at home, work, or in therapy.
This season is a great time to let go of old fears, embrace creativity, and celebrate connection.

Wishing you a fun, safe, and mindful Halloween! 🍬🕯️

Anxiety can feel overwhelming—racing thoughts, a rapid heartbeat, tension, even panic. But it is highly treatable.

Behavioral health professionals create safe spaces to explore fears, learn coping skills, and gradually rebuild confidence. With support and evidence-based care, you can shift from avoidance to acceptance—and start living more fully. 💙
