CO2 laser is one of the most effective ways to improve skin elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I use it in the vast majority of lower blepharoplasty cases during surgery (assuming the patient is a candidate). In some cases, when the skin quality is poor, we repeat the laser at 6-8 weeks post-op for further improvement. Here, I’m doing it again on the lower and upper eyelids 6 weeks after a quad bleph.
This laser requires downtime. When performed with surgery, it falls on the same timeframe as the recovery. When done separately, it’s 5-7 days of downtime.
Aftercare is compresses and our recovery serum. Avoiding sun exposure 1 month before and 1 month after is very important to minimize the risk of pigmentation.
