Julia Ruth House Adult Day Social Center Offering older adults companionship, enrichment, and a sense of belonging Almost all of our guests have been vaccinated and our staff, as well.

We are delighted to share with you that things are looking very good at the Julia Ruth House. We have been reopened for several months now and are enjoying the days with our wonderful guests. Hopefully we will not have to think of or mention the word "COVID" soon, as we are praying it will just become a terrible thing of the past. This past year has made us realize how vulnerable we really are and how fragile life is. We lost several of our guests to other problems affecting our elders, such as falls, depression, dehydration and loneliness, however none succumbed to COVID. We have welcomed all our guests back and have welcomed several new members as well. We continue to enjoy each day with lots of companionship, music, exercise, activities and most of all-lots of laughter. I want to remind everyone that the Julia Ruth House welcomes all adults, whether they have been diagnosed with a medical problem or just need socialization with their peers. Our specialty is making people feel included, useful, stimulated and most of all happy.

As we near the end of our 25th anniversary year, we recognize the people and relationships that have made this and every year special, like those described by Jay and Bill:
“When the doctor recommended that we visit, we delayed going and now wish we had not. From our first visit to check out Julia Ruth House and meet both the staff and the guests, it has been a warm and pleasant experience. Knowing that Julia Ruth House adds structure, social engagement, and some mild exercise of mind and body is a relief and comfort. My dad and I look forward to both drop off – where he is warmly welcomed by a familiar community – and pick up – where stories from the day often are often exchanged on the ride home.
We strongly recommend a visit to see if it fits for you or your loved one. It is so different from other places we looked at because of the personal connections built and the engagement culture at the Julia Ruth House.
