Fox Hill Village residents were connecting to a warmer place this weekend by creating "Sailor’s Valentines" with seashells from Sanibel Island, Florida 🐚

Sailor’s Valentines originated in the 19th century (circa 1830–1880). These intricately designed, glass-fronted keepsake boxes were filled with carefully arranged seashells and purchased by sailors from local artisans—most notably in Barbados—to bring home to their wives and sweethearts as tokens of love. Moments like these remind us how creativity brings people together and sparks great conversation. 🦊🐚

When Ray Seymour, Fox Hill Village Director of Engineering, decided to build a tree terrace, he was careful not to leave a big footprint. Instead, he built the floor around a tree so it could continue growing undisturbed. The result is a peaceful retreat for residents and trail walkers to enjoy. It invites everyone to pause, take in the sights and sounds, and connect with nature. Thank you, Ray and team, for spending several weekends building this beautiful treehouse. It’s truly a labor of love and a generous gift to the community.

Our Winter Wonderland Tea Party was made extra special with these sweet treats! Residents enjoyed cupcakes topped with a swirl of creamy snow-blue frosting, white chocolate-covered strawberries sprinkled with festive flair, and, of course, mugs of fresh-brewed tea.

From the elegant presentation to the delicious flavors, every bite added to a cozy afternoon filled with lively conversation and warm smiles. It’s moments like these that make Birch Grove feel like home.

When Larry and Gabriella Coburn moved to Fox Hill Village in 2022, they were following in the footsteps of Larry’s parents. Like his parents before him, Larry had many long-time friends who were residents of Fox Hill Village and who continue to provide a strong support network. With family nearby and the chores of homeownership behind them, Larry and Gabriella are enjoying life on their terms, both at Fox Hill Village and in the greater community. "We really appreciate that we can be ourselves here without feeling the pressure to conform to a particular lifestyle,” says Larry. Exciting Event at Fox Hill Village!
We were honored to recently host a live Zoom Q&A with Marty Baron, award-winning journalist and former editor of The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, alongside political reporter Alison King, who facilitated the discussion live from our auditorium.
Residents submitted thoughtful questions, and Marty shared insights on the latest headline-making news stories, as well as his experiences leading two of the nation’s top newspapers during a challenging time for print media.
It was an inspiring session full of behind-the-scenes perspectives on journalism and the ever-changing media landscape! 🦊📰✨

Fox Hill was pleased to support and attend a Parkinson's Awareness Panel event at the Sharon Council on Aging last Thursday. We had 40+ people attend - it was an incredible turnout! Movement disorder specialist Dr. Suja Sadasivan and Parkinson's Foundation staff members Kyle Meingast and Stefany Scliopou all spoke, along with Bob DePeron, who generously shared about his experiences of living with Parkinson's.

As the second most common neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer's and the fastest-growing neurological condition globally, Parkinson's and awareness of it is increasingly important to the global conversation about aging. 🦊
