Good morning. Our office is pleased to announce we will be adding medical weight loss to our services. This service is available to any of our primary care patients. We will not provide this service to patients who are not established with our office.
The first visit will be billed to your medical insurance as a screening. If you meet requirements for obesity or metabolic syndrome we will continue to bill your insurance for the office visit. If you do not, then after the first visit any visit related to weight loss will be cash pay at $100 per visit.
We are willing to send in the prescription for injectable weight loss medication to your pharmacy and will complete a preauthorization for the medication. If your insurance decides to pay for the medication - congratulations!
If your insurance does not decide to pay for the medication, we are established with a compounding pharmacy and will be placing bi-weekly orders to the pharmacy for the medication in your name. The medication will arrive at our office and you will pick it up from there.
Visits for weight loss will be a minimum of every three months - more if indicated based on your health status.
Call our office and request a visit if you are interested! We will be happy to discuss in depth details at your visit. A weight loss visit will need to be booked separately from your other health needs.

Retirement post to all the patients loved by Dr. Michael Barnes due to post in both the News Herald and The Star:

To all the patients who helped make my practice a success for the past 24 years - I am indebted to you.

It is because of you that I have managed to stay in business for the past 24 years in a rural community. I will forever cherish the memories and privilege of caring for you, your parents and now perhaps even your children.

With the trusted help of the late Mrs. Nellie Wade, RN and a wonderful staff who has been with me for years we accomplished what we set out to do. And that was simply to provide you with personalized healthcare, and peace of mind knowing our office was someone that you could trust and depend on no matter what.

So, it is with heavy heart that I inform you that I will be retiring, effective April 3rd, 2023.

However, I will be leaving you in the trusted hands of Amy L. Miller, NP-C in whom I have complete faith in. She will provide you with the same care and dedication as you have grown accustomed to - of that, I have no doubt. You will continue to see the same smiling faces of our existing staff - Christy, Robin and Crystal.

OFFICE CLOSURE SCHEDULE FOR HOLIDAYS
1- Office will be closed beginning Wednesday, November 23rd and reopen for walk-ins Monday, November 28th.
2-Office will be closed the week of December 26th through the 30th. The office will re-open Monday, January 2, 2023 with walk-ins all day.

We will not have a provider in the office Monday Oct. 17th and Tuesday Oct. 18th. We will be accepting walk-ins all day on Wednesday Oct. 19th.

We are aware there are concerns the office is closing. Please be aware that Amy L Miller, APRN is the full-time provider for our office. WE ARE NOT CLOSING! Amy is on vacation this week and we will re-open on Tuesday September 6, 2022 for walk-ins all day.

We ask that during this very difficult time for Dr. Barnes everyone understand and remember he has given 25 years of personal devotion to this community and is now in need of your support and prayers!

Good morning!

There will be no provider in the office the entire week of 8/29/22 -9/2/22 as she will be on vacation.

The office staff will be answering the phones on Monday 8/29/22 and Tuesday 8/30/22.

Please do not forget our office will also be closed on Labor Day, Sept 5th. We will re-open on Tuesday, Sept 6, and this will be for walk-ins all day.

Our office will be closed Friday July 1, 2022, through Tuesday July 5, 2022. Please plan accordingly. We will reopen Wednesday July 6, 2022. This day will be walk-ins.

Please remember our normal schedule is Monday mornings walk-ins until 11:00 CST and all other times are by appointment only.

Our office will be closed Thursday through Monday for the Memorial Holiday. We will reopen Tuesday May 31st.

The office will be closed Thursday February 24th and Friday February 25th. We will reopen Monday February 28th. Our hours will be as follows: Monday through Thursday with acute care in the drive through from 8 am to 9 am cst. The drive through line is for patients with fever, cough, symptoms of COVID, or you know that you are COVID positive. All other patient visits will be by appointment 9 am and after.

We are both proud and sad to announce that April Borders will be leaving the practice to pursue her dream of advancing her ability to care for others as she begins the RN program. The schedule of a demanding practice will not be conducive to her journey. We are now immediately accepting resumes for CNAs, medical assistants, and LPNs who are experienced in patient care, intake, documentation, use of electronic health record software, and administering injections. Please fax your resume to 850-639-9318, drop off at the office, or leave in the drop box on the front porch.

Acute needs, those with fever, suspected COVID wanting to be tested, or positive COVID patients will be seen in drive thru from 8 AM - 9 AM CST.

All other visits will now be by appointment in the office. You must wear a mask. Please phone the office to schedule your appointment.
