Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult memories, reducing their emotional intensity and the negative impact they may have on daily life. EMDR can help with trauma, anxiety, grief, and other challenging experiences, allowing you to move forward with healing, clarity, and emotional freedom. This year, we’re partnering with Grieb Chiropractic Clinic to bless a local family that has walked through more hardship than most could imagine.

This family experienced a devastating house fire, is raising three incredible, special needs children all under the age of 10, and is now navigating a recent cancer diagnosis for the father. In the midst of so much loss and uncertainty, we want them to feel seen, supported, and surrounded by hope.

In our office, you’ll find a Christmas tree filled with ornaments—each one representing a way to bless this family during the holiday season. If you feel led, we invite you to take an ornament and return the corresponding gift by Monday, December 22nd.

Your kindness can help bring warmth to a family who truly needs it this Christmas.

Thank you for being part of a community that shows up.

This month, we honor the incredible individuals who give so much of themselves to care for others — parents, spouses, siblings, children, and friends who show up with love, strength, and compassion every day.

Being a caregiver can be both rewarding and exhausting. It’s okay to acknowledge that it’s hard — and it’s okay to need support, rest, and space to care for yourself, too. At Hope Counseling Pittsburgh, we want caregivers to know: you are seen, valued, and not alone. Taking time for your own mental and emotional health isn’t selfish — it’s essential.

If you’re a caregiver, we are here to support you. Give the office a call to schedule an appointment today: 724.987.2992.

A gentle reminder from Winnie the Pooh: “Sometimes,” said Pooh quietly, “we spend so much time thinking about what went wrong that we forget to see all the little things that went right. The sun still rises. The tea is still warm. A friend still sits beside you. And that’s enough, really. Life isn’t meant to be perfect — it’s meant to be lived. So forgive quickly, hold on gently, love deeply, and keep walking forward with a thankful heart. The world feels kinder when you choose peace over pride, and smiles over arguments.”
