We hosted our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner with residents, families and friends last evening. Chef served a delicious meal with all the fixings, including turkey and a beautiful dessert buffet filled with a wide variety of tasty pies.

A special thanks to musician Melissa Blaine for the delightful dinner music. 🎶🎹

We are truly thankful for family and friends and all of our blessings this time of year.

At Ashton Commons, we have pie on our minds!

In the latest painting class, we learned about Wayne Thiebaud and how he created his paintings, including the famous “Pie Counter” from the early 1960s. He used everyday objects, including food, as subjects in his artwork.

The residents worked on their own pie paintings and they were great - they looked good enough to eat! Now we are ready to enjoy the real thing - delicious pie on Thanksgiving!

It’s never too early to get into the holiday spirit! 🎄 The Sassy Seniors lit up our day with an energetic Holiday Show filled with dancing, singing, and hilarious skits. 🎶 Even Santa & Blitzen stopped by! 🦌🎅 We enjoyed Christmas carols from around the world—some in different languages! 🌍 Families & friends joined for a truly delightful afternoon. Let’s spread that holiday cheer!

We’ve spent the entire day honoring the brave men and women who have served our country here at Ashton Commons.

This afternoon, residents and guests gathered for a heartfelt tribute ceremony and social, complete with cake and appreciation certificates presented to our veterans in recognition of their service.

Later in the evening, we welcomed the Pittsburgh North Hills Harmony Line Chorus, a 17-member barbershop group dressed in red, white, and blue — even down to their American flag ties! Their spirited performance filled the room with patriotic tunes and joy as residents and family members sang along and celebrated together.

It was truly a special day of gratitude, music, and community.

What an incredible day at our Holiday Craft Fair! Residents, families and friends shopped, vendors showcased their amazing crafts, and we even enjoyed live music from a talented vendor strumming his guitar! 🎶 A big thanks to Finn Chiropractic for the complimentary chair massages! 👐 We loved seeing so many friendly faces in our bustling community.

🍂 Autumn fun is in full swing at our memory care community! This month, our residents got crafty making beautiful clay leaves painted in warm fall colors. 🎨🍁 To top it off, they sipped on delicious pumpkin spice hot chocolate while enjoying the classic "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" 🎃

🎨 What a vibrant day at our art class with the fabulous Janet Huddleston! Our residents dove into the world of Vincent Van Gogh's iconic 1890 masterpiece, "Wheatfield with Crows." They painted their own interpretations and engaged in lively conversations about the symbolism of the path, sky, and those intriguing crows. 🖌 It was a beautiful blend of creativity and insight!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to make our Haunted Hallways Trick-or-Treat such a memorable night! We had an incredible turnout—around 150 little trick-or-treaters and their families filled our halls with smiles, laughter, and the cutest costumes.

Our residents absolutely loved handing out candy and seeing the kids’ excitement. Events like this truly bring our community together, and we’re so grateful for the joy you shared with us.

Thank you to the families, friends, residents, staff, and volunteers who helped make the night magical. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🧡🎃

Our club room was filled with joy as we welcomed the incredible The Pittsburgh Banjo Club 🎸. With nearly a dozen banjo players and two cornet players, they filled our community with music for over an hour! Residents clapped, tapped their feet, & sang along. 👏🎶 Families and visitors added to the fun—what a wonderful time!
