When people prepare for a new baby, so much of the focus goes to the nursery, the registry, and all the baby essentials.

But your postpartum season deserves preparation, too.

A good postpartum “must-have” list can include support, meals, hydration, rest, overnight help, and recovery care — the things that help you feel more steady and cared for once you’re home with your baby.

If you’re expecting and starting to think about your postpartum plan, you’re always welcome to message or email me 🤍

Postpartum support can look different for every family.

Sometimes it’s overnight care, feeding support, or helping parents get more rest. And sometimes, it’s tending to the small but meaningful things — like bath time while you take a moment to rest.

Support during the 4th trimester isn’t always about doing something big. Often, it’s about having someone there to lessen the load in quiet, practical ways.

If you’re expecting or newly postpartum and wondering what overnight postpartum support could look like for your family, you’re always welcome to message or email me 🤍

Earth Day reminder: fresh air counts as care, too. 🤍🌎

During postpartum, even a few minutes of fresh air, sunlight, or a short walk can help you feel a little more grounded. Stepping outside, sitting on the porch with a warm drink, or taking a few deep breaths while someone else holds the baby can go a long way in the 4th trimester.

These small moments won’t fix everything, but they can offer a little space, a little calm, and a gentle reset during a season that asks so much.

Placenta encapsulation is one of those postpartum services that many families are curious about, but often have questions before deciding if it feels like the right fit.

Like all postpartum support, placenta encapsulation is a personal choice, and there’s no one right way to prepare for recovery after birth. For some families, it can feel like a meaningful part of their postpartum plan alongside rest, nourishment, and support during the 4th trimester.

If you’re expecting and want to learn more about my placenta encapsulation services, you’re always welcome to message or email me. 🤍

Support during postpartum doesn’t have to be complicated. Often, it looks like small, thoughtful things — protecting rest, helping with meals, creating calm, and offering reassurance during a season that can feel very tender.

If you’re supporting someone in the 4th trimester, your presence matters more than you know. 💚

Postpartum can take a lot out of your body, and comfort matters more than most people realize.

Simple things like warm layers, herbal tea, a cozy setup, or gentle warmth on the body can bring a little more ease during the 4th trimester. For some, belly binding or wrapping can also feel supportive during recovery.

These may seem like small things, but they can make a meaningful difference during a season of healing, adjustment, and very little rest.

Below are some simple ways to add comfort and warmth to your postpartum chapter. 🌿

Postpartum is a major physical, emotional, and mental transition. It’s healing. It’s hormones. It’s sleep deprivation. It’s learning your baby while also getting to know a completely new version of yourself.

And yet, so often, the focus fades once the baby arrives.

There's so much preparation for pregnancy and birth — appointments, classes, registries, hospital bags, nursery setup. But once families come home, many are left to figure out the 4th trimester on their own.

That doesn’t mean postpartum is any less important. It doesn’t mean the recovery is any smaller.

Truth is, postpartum deserves to be taken seriously. It deserves support, rest, reassurance, and space to adjust. It deserves honest conversations. It deserves systems that don’t expect new parents to “bounce back” or quietly carry the weight of it all on their own.

Support during this season is not indulgent. It’s not extra. It’s part of care.

If you’re in the thick of postpartum right now, and it feels bigger or heavier than you expected, you’re not doing anything wrong. This season is a big deal. And you deserve to be supported through it.

I support families throughout Greater Boston and the South Shore during the 4th trimester with overnight postpartum care, postpartum doula support, and more. If you’d ever like to talk through what support could look like, you’re always welcome to message or email me. 🤍

A common question I hear is, “Why would I need overnight help if I’m breastfeeding anyway?”

And it’s such a fair question.

Overnight support isn’t about replacing you — it’s about protecting your rest. I take care of the diapers, burping, swaddling, soothing, bottle washing, pump parts, resetting the room, and getting the baby fully settled back to sleep. Mom feeds, then goes right back to sleep.

I often joke that your feet don’t even need to touch the floor if you don’t want to!

It’s the difference between being awake for 20 minutes versus being up for an hour or more. And that cumulative rest can make such a meaningful difference in healing, mood, milk supply, mental health, and how parents feel during the day.

Over the years, this work has taught me a lot.

💚 It’s taught me that the postpartum season is tender, vulnerable, and often very different from what families expect.

💚 It’s taught me that rest changes everything — for healing, for confidence, and for how parents move through those early weeks with their baby.

💚 It’s taught me that sometimes the most meaningful support is simply being a calm presence in the room during the quiet moments.

Supporting mothers as they become mothers is something I never take lightly. I’m so grateful for the families who allow me into such an intimate season of their lives.

As World Doula Week comes to a close, I’m feeling especially grateful to do this work alongside families throughout Boston and the South Shore.

And to any new parents in the thick of the 4th trimester right now — I’m sending you so much love. 💫

There's so much preparation for birth, but far less conversation about what happens once families come home.

The postpartum period — often called the 4th trimester — includes recovery, sleep deprivation, emotional shifts, and learning a completely new rhythm with your baby.

Research shows that 𝟏 𝐢𝐧 𝟕 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, highlighting just how important support during this time can be.

Postpartum doulas help fill this gap, offering steady care and reassurance during the earliest weeks of parenthood. In honor of World Doula Week, I’m grateful to support families throughout Boston and the South Shore during this important transition.

My messages are always open if you'd like to learn more. 💚
