Our Lactation Support Group is a great resource for new moms breastfeeding for the first time.

Led by nurses certified in lactation counseling, this in-person support group gives guidance on latches, milk supply, nursing positions, pumping, nutrition for nursing moms, and more.

The group meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and is for nursing moms only, guests and co-parents cannot attend the sessions.

Our Prenatal Aquatic Fitness program is a great way for expectant moms to improve core strength, condition the musculature used during pregnancy and birth, ease lower back pain and boost energy levels.

Classes are led by an exercise therapist in an 83-degree pool with sessions held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 PM and 6-7 PM The cost is $40 per month for four classes.

Class size is limited.

Our next Newborn Essentials class will be held in person Wednesday, April 22 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

This informative, hands-on class teaches new parents diapering basics, umbilical cord care, and proper infant positioning, as well as ways to comfort your crying baby, guidelines for safe infant sleep and car seat safety essentials.

Partners are welcome and encouraged to attend, but do not need to register. The class will be held in the OB Classrooms A & B, located on the second floor of South Shore Hospital.
