Mr H Vaquero Manso 868/5, not to be overshadowed by his pen mate, Mr H Sugar Daddy Manso 863/5, walked away with the Grand Champion honors at the recent Rio Grande Valley Expo in Mercedes, Texas. Vaquero 868/5 was certainly a crowd favorite with the University students during our Collegiate Workout Day, due to his practical build, or as one young lady describes him…Good cattle are built from the ground up and no question 868/5 exemplifies that. A 15-year-old from Grandview, Texas, raised a steer named Zinger, and it just sold for $1.5 million at RodeoHouston.

Mason Grady broke the all-time auction record, and his family has been showing at RodeoHouston for over two decades.

When asked if he slept the night before, Mason said "Practically none. How can you sleep after something as amazing as that?"

Jett Hale of Miami, Texas earned Reserve Grand Champion with his steer Ryan, which sold for $750,000 and set its own record. Jett has battled cancer and has been named Reserve Grand Champion at least three times.
