This is Only the Beginning 🦅 💚🧡🦅
In the Fall of 2022, I moved schools within my district (Adams14), and I became a high school teacher… and high school coach (again)!
Working to rebuild a Cross Country and Track & Field program at Adams City HS has been all of the things: amazingly fun yet incredibly stressful … remarkably rewarding yet very demanding. It has required the extreme patience and support from my family, and I couldn’t be more thankful for them for facilitating this opportunity. 🙏🏻
So far, alongside a very talented Sprint Coach in (and recently Coach Rachel Quaye as our Throws Coach), we’ve seen our squad grow from ONE single athlete in XC Fall ‘22 —> EIGHT student athletes last T&F season —> to FORTY this T&F season ‼️ 🤩
Take a moment, give us a follow , and watch us do big things!

Back with some stellar content, and it’s great to see y’all again!
***PARENTS***
If there’s one thing you should do for your kids, take their shoes off for AS MUCH of the warmer months as possible (wherever you live). Give your (especially younger) kids’ feet the opportunity to connect their THOUSANDS of nerve endings to the earth! 👣 🌎 ❤️
That’s it for now. Happy Thanksliving!

What I repeat in my head when I’m five days back into a training regimen, and I’m already thinking about increasing vert, interval workouts, and racing. 😂
(ALSO what I want to say to all the IG Herpes Spammers that light up my holistic health posts for the first hour they’re up 😂)
I’m comin’ back, world! 💪🏻

How a Run Streak Has Reignited my Fitness 🏃🏻‍♂️💪🏻
Like many this year, I’ve ridden a rollercoaster in the fitness category. A mix of motivation swings, pressure to make ends meet, and a little bit of stubbornness brought a pause to the endurance gains I was making over the summer. Some really loving and intelligent people around me suggested that I start running just a couple miles each day. Being a hardheaded sillynilly, I had the mindset that “2 miles wasn’t good enough.” Though I regularly coach humans away from the mindset of comparing yourself to a prior version, I’m apparently a bad student (see also: normal like err’body else). SO, last week, when I realized that I desperately needed to get back on the train, it was time to listen.
The plan: get some momentum back on my side. Run at least two miles each day, more if I was feeling good, and start vibin’ again. I’m seven days in, and that MO is definitely in my corner! How can this help you?
If you’re currently in the boat that I was in.... JUST LAST WEEK.... you can start your plan of action too! Pick a type of movement that interests you and set a very reasonable daily goal - something you can definitely hit. You’ll most likely find that, if you can get thru the first 2-3 days, you’ll be through the roughest patch of establishing a pattern.
How long will I keep my streak going? I don’t really know. For now, I’m just enjoying the freedom that I find through movement. ✨👊🏻🙏🏻

My journey into sobriety was an unexpected one. In June of last year (which honestly seems like 5 years ago, am I right?!?), I was looking for an edge in performance, and I decided to take a 30-day break from booze. After my 30 days, I decided to stretch my goal to 100 days... then I got to 100 and thought, “Why not a year?” I hit my year anniversary a few months ago, and I cannot honestly see myself going back to my former lifestyle. And I don’t even think I “had a problem.” Booze, however, was leaving me in a perpetual funk throughout the week.
PUMPED to have such a fantastic ally and teammate in Megan 🙌🏻
Repost from using - Many of you are celebrating SOBER OCTOBER and I wanna give you a huge high-5 🙌 for hitting the reset button on your alcohol intake and checking in with yourself, asking “what’s up” when the mind and body are clear ! 👏 ❤️ 💡
May I suggest ...trail hiking or running as an alternate activity ?! Spend the $ you would’ve spent on drinks, on a pair of good shoes instead. One step further? Consider investing in a coach to help you! Accountability is a HUGE component of success 🥇. My friend and coach and I want to offer you this challenge:
— comment below if you’re going sober in October.
— tag us in your public-commitment post where you share how you’re doing and what recreation you’re doing in place of drinking.
— contact for a FREE 15-minute zoom/google chat/video consult (shoot him a DM to schedule) ... ask your questions about how to get started, what shoes may be best for you, what stretches or core activities might you add before and after .... and so on. Thomas aka TS is standing by to help you this month -and so am I!
Let us know how we can support you in this awesome October goal-post comments and questions below.
- bonus: check out the app and keep track of dollars saved and calories not consumed this month. It’ll blow your mind ! 🤯

The Big White Mickey-Mouse-Looking Gloves Means Fall is Coming 🍂 🍁
Of all the road races out there, I miss this one the most - The RRCA Club Challenge! Held in Columbia, MD early each year, you get to line up alongside your club teammates & put in work along an undulating, hilly, and relentless 10-mile course. When I lived in Maryland, breaking 60 minutes on that course was always a stretch goal of mine, and I appreciated burying myself in an effort each time.
I. Cannot. Wait. To Race. Again!!! Anybody else feeling me? Comment below with your favorite race (road, trail, or track 💨)

Do You HAVE to Run? .... or Do You GET to Run?
Okay, I know... just silly words, right? In my pursuit of gratitude, though, they’ve been pretty clutch. Look, 2020 has revoked all senses of normalcy in the endurance world, and some of you are probably pretty burned out. With (little to) no races on the schedule, it might be time for a little break. Recharge. Come back thirsty for more training 👍🏻
So, again, I’ll ask you, “Do you HAVE to run, or do you get to?”

🚲 Happy Bike to Wor.... eh... Everywhere Day 🌎 ❤️
If you’re a ‘Stranger Things’ fan, then you’ll know what I mean when I tell you that 2020’s been a life in the Upside-Down 🙃.
One of the events that I’ve grown to really love is Bike2Work Day, and I’ve biked to every job I’ve ever worked. While it is a bummer to have our fun group meetups canned this year, I look forward to all the future adventures on two wheels with best friends 🚲 ❤️
Here are a few reflections on why the Stotts love bikes so much 🤟🏻
