Yesterday I went on a hike and gave myself something many of us don’t get enough of.

Space.

Space away from screens.
Space away from constant decisions.
Space for my nervous system to slow down.

Movement and fresh air have a powerful effect on our bodies and our minds.

Sometimes the most supportive thing we can do for our mental well-being isn’t to push harder.

It’s to step outside and move.

Even a short walk can help reset your nervous system and bring a little more clarity and calm to your day.

🐾 Move better. Feel better. Live better.💙

Your dog doesn’t just live in your house.
They live alongside your nervous system.

Dogs are incredibly attuned to us.
They notice when our breathing changes.
When our movements get tense.
When the energy in the room shifts.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed and your dog suddenly seemed clingier… or restless… you’re not imagining it.

They feel with us.

This isn’t about being calm all the time.
It’s about awareness.

Sometimes the best thing we can do for our dogs is slow our own breath… take the walk… soften our shoulders.

Regulated owners often raise more regulated dogs.

Have you ever noticed your pup tuning into your stress? 🐾

If you’re waiting for the “perfect” workout window… it might not come.

And the same goes for your dog.

Movement doesn’t have to be intense to matter.
It has to be consistent.

For entrepreneurs, that might look like:
• A 10 minute walk between calls
• Rolling your shoulders and breathing before your next client
• Actually closing your laptop when admin time is done

For dogs, it might look like:
• Slow controlled leash walks
• Gentle hill work
• Consistent mobility instead of weekend warrior bursts

The nervous system thrives on rhythm, not randomness.

Small, steady movement helps regulate stress for you and your pup.

What’s one small movement you’re committing to today? 🐾

Sometimes the first sign a horse is uncomfortable is not obvious lameness. It’s attitude, subtle changes in movement, or “they just feel different.”

A few things I tell riders to watch for:
Struggling to pick up one lead
Stiffness on one bend
Tail swishing, ear pinning, or tension during transitions
Feeling heavier in one rein
Not wanting to move forward the way they usually do

If you want a simple check, watch your horse walk and trot straight away from you and toward you. Look for symmetry in the hips and shoulders. Small differences can tell a story.

And as always, sudden changes or concerns should start with your vet.

Riders, what’s the first thing you notice when your horse is not quite themselves?

There was a season where I felt burned out, stuck, and honestly a little disconnected from what I wanted.

I was still showing up. Still seeing patients. Still doing “all the right things.”
But it felt heavy. Like I was pushing a boulder uphill and calling it normal.

What changed everything wasn’t one big dramatic breakthrough.

It was small choices.

Getting clear about what I actually wanted.
Taking support seriously.
Learning how to regulate my nervous system instead of living in survival mode.
Choosing momentum over perfection.
Showing up as myself instead of who I thought I had to be.

One of those small choices was expanding into animal chiropractic and allowing myself to build a practice that truly lights me up again.

And here’s the wild part.

That’s exactly what I see in healing bodies too.

Healing isn’t loud or flashy.
It looks like consistency.
It looks like safety.
It looks like support.
It looks like small shifts that build over time.

If you’re in a rebuilding season right now, you’re not behind.

You’re building.

🐾 Move better. Feel better. Live better.

I’d love to hear, what’s one thing you’ve done in the last year that you’re genuinely proud of? 💙

Happy National Love Your Pet Day 🐾💗🧡

As if we needed a reason to be extra obsessed with them…

Today I’m celebrating:
🐶 The tail wags when I grab the leash
🐾 The dramatic sighs when I stop petting them
🛋 The way they somehow take up 97% of the bed
💛 The unconditional love they give on the hardest days

Our pets don’t care how productive we were.
They don’t care what’s on our to-do list.
They just want to be near us.

And honestly? That’s the kind of love that changes you.

Drop a pic of your fur baby below so I can celebrate them too 🐶👇

A few years ago, I was in full survival mode.
Now I’m being interviewed about the journey.

Life is wild.

I’m honored to be featured in Voyage Denver, sharing the real behind-the-scenes of building Elevate Health Chiropractic — the pivots, the doubts, the growth, and the “bet on yourself anyway” moments.

This business has challenged me, stretched me, and grown me in ways I never expected.

If you’ve supported me, referred someone, trusted me with your care (or your pup’s 🐾)… this feature is because of you too.

Wild + Wonderful Wednesday 🐾

Meet Michonne and Archer ✨

Michonne is a “wolf” corgi, also known as a Swedish Vallhund, named after the Walking Dead character and absolutely living up to the legend.

Archer is her self-appointed seeing eye dog and full time best friend. He loves playing with both human and dog friends and takes his job very seriously.

These two rescues have been side by side for about 10 years and truly are the best of friends. Proof that the best stories sometimes come in pairs 💙🧡🩵

Drop a 🐾 if this duo made you smile.

One of my favorite nervous system friendly resets takes less than a minute and it’s something you can do anywhere.

Stand up and let your arms hang heavy.
Take a slow inhale through your nose.
Exhale longer than you inhale.
Then gently roll your shoulders back like you’re widening your collarbones.
Finish with a slow look left, then right, like you’re scanning the room.

It seems simple, but your body loves simple. This is a quick signal of safety, especially if you’ve been sitting, rushing, or living in go mode.

Try it once, then notice how your posture and breath change.

Do you want more quick resets like this for desk life and busy schedules?

Can I share how I explain consistency without making it weird or salesy

Because I know a lot of people have had the experience of feeling pressured in healthcare, and that’s not the vibe here.

This is what I tell patients and pup parents:
One visit can help you feel better. Consistent care is what helps your body hold onto that change.

Whether we’re talking about a human nervous system that’s been stressed for years, or a dog compensating after an old injury, we’re building new patterns. We’re teaching the body a different baseline.

And that takes time, repetition, and support.

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel great after care but then life hits and it fades, you’re not broken. You’re human. Your body is adaptable, and it responds to what’s repeated.

Have you ever had a season where you were consistent with something and you could actually feel the difference?

Wild + Wonderful Wednesday 🐾

Meet Nala ✨
A 13 year old Husky and Shepherd mix who fully embraces her role as queen of the pack.

Nala is curious, confident, and makes sure her three husky siblings stay in line. Someone has to run the show, and she takes that responsibility seriously. With wisdom, presence, and just the right amount of sass, she leads her crew like a true matriarch.

Midweek joy brought to you by this beautiful queen 👑💙🧡🩵

🌟 Tip Tuesday: Movement That Counts

Today’s focus: Movement doesn’t have to be a workout.

Movement isn’t all-or-nothing. Your body doesn’t only benefit from hour-long workouts or sweaty sessions. It benefits from frequency, variety, and consistency.

Walking to refill your coffee ☕
Standing up between meetings
Gentle stretches while you’re on a call
A quick lap around the block with your dogs 🐾

All of that counts.

From a chiropractic + nervous system lens, small, repeatable movement tells your body it’s safe to move. It keeps joints nourished, reduces stiffness, and helps prevent that end-of-day “why does everything feel tight?” feeling.

You don’t need to do more.
You just need to move a little more often 💙

What’s one small way you can add a bit of movement into your day today?

Optimizing health, elevating life

Dr. Jennifer Andrade is a Colorado native. From a young age she was always interested in helping people and was fascinated by the human body. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. During the last year of her undergraduate studies she was involved in a car accident with a friend. Following the accident, that friend sustained a concussion and suffered daily, debilitating headaches that nearly forced him to drop out of school. He sought treatment from acupuncturists, medical doctors, neurologists, physical therapists, and massage therapists and found no relief. Then he sought treatment with a Chiropractor and his headaches quickly disappeared and he was able to get his life back. After witnessing the amazing benefits of Chiropractic, she was convinced and decided to pursue a career as a Chiropractor.

Dr. Andrade graduated Magna Cum Laude from Parker University in Dallas, TX in August 2014. Her philosophy on health is “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Benjamin Franklin. She strives to educate her patients to take control of their health, so that they can continue doing what they love and to be a partner in their journey towards better health and wellness.
