Why do somatic therapists ask so many questions about the body?✨Because insight alone doesn’t always create change.✨

You can understand your patterns, name your triggers, and tell your story clearly….and still feel stuck.

That’s because many of our experiences (especially stress and trauma) are not just held in the mind, but in the nervous system.

In somatic therapy, questions like:
• “What are you noticing in your body right now?”
• “Can we slow that down?”
• “Do you feel expansion or contraction?”
aren’t random. They help bring awareness to how your body is responding in real time.

This matters because:

Your body often reacts before your mind can make sense of it.

Your nervous system holds patterns of protection, survival, and adaptation.

And real, lasting change happens when those patterns are felt, processed, and gently reshaped- not just talked about.

By learning to track sensations, stay present, and respond with awareness, you’re not just understanding yourself…
you’re building a new relationship with your body. One that includes safety, choice, and regulation.

Now THAT is the work. 🤍
