Being an HSP at our core has nothing to do with trauma. In the same way that being born with green eyes or long legs has nothing to do with childhood experience. Sensitivity is a trait, a difference, and a powerful one at that!
In the guides of the FB group (Natural Health for the HSP) I discuss trauma and the HSP. Trauma, most often micro traumas, are a very real thing in our HSP lives that are linked to physiological overstimulation (sensory overload consuming our biological resources = fuel). However - our sensitivity is not CAUSED by trauma. Sensitivity is a trait and can be expressed in unique ways within the HSP category.
I personally dabble in both extroversion and introversion (because why not add another degree of difficulty to my already colorful HSP experience 😆) but likely fall into a more consistently extroverted comfort zone. This is a very complex combination of traits for an HSP! Managing my extroverted tendencies with my very precious, limited available energy is one of the most challenging aspects of my self (health) care.
Do you consider yourself to be a more introverted or extroverted HSP?
Who also juggles the intro and extroverted subtraits? How do you keep yourself balanced between the demands to connect with the outside world and our HIGH demands to preserve energy and care for our exceptionally intricate inner world?
