Each season is associated with an organ system in Chinese Medicine. Spring is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder.

πŸ‘ The Liver "opens into the eyes." Symptoms like red itchy eyes, tired eyes, blurry vision can all point to disharmony in the Liver.

🏡 Environmental allergens, pollens, or simply looking at screens all day can be hard on the eyes.

🌺 In Chinese Medicine we use flowers to "cool" and "clear heat" from the eyes soothing redness and irritation.

🧿 If you have red itchy eyes or notice eye strain after looking at screens all day try this...

🍡 Steep 1 Tbs Chrysanthemum or Hibiscus tea with 1 Tbs Goji Berries to support eye health and soothe irritated eyes.

***I found loose leaf Hibiscus tea and goji berries in the bulk section.

Today we welcome the first day of Spring. The Spring Equinox is a time where energy begins to ascend. It's a time of growth and change. We tap into this energy to help propel us out of our cocoon. We use this energy to encourage our growth and evolution. As we grow, resistance will show up and push back. Don't be fooled or deterred. This resistance is not a sign that we are on the wrong path. It is the natural force that opposes growth. Continue to push beyond the resistance...that is where the magic happens πŸ’«πŸ£

Winter Solstice. We shine light into the darkness. A calling to illuminate the parts of us we keep hidden, in the dark, our shadows, our sadness and grief, our fears, our shame...all these aspects of ourselves we call darkness we call into the light. We Illuminate the dark, so that we can be whole. All our parts get a seat at the table. In this state we can heal as we welcome it ALL in, the dark and the light, the Yin and the Yang, we welcome it all with open arms. We welcome ourselves HOME. Here we find balance peace, love, and acceptance ☯️

Peace and blessings to you all.

When people ask "what does Acupuncture treat?"
I find that my patient's stories answer this best.

This patient came in with diffuse and chronic joint pain affecting the hands, feet, and knees primarily. They were concerned they might have Rheumatoid Arthritis. In addition they had chronic tension and jaw clenching.

What does this mean from our perspective?

The Liver (and Gallbladder) channel Qi (function and flow of energy) has gotten stuck and is causing pain and tension as a result.

Solution...we move and circulate!

I used Acupuncture and herbs, and after just 1 Acupuncture session, this is the result πŸ™Œ

It's not magic, it's movement πŸ’«

Are parts of you stuck? Physically? Emotionally?

If you experience chronic pain, tension, or emotional instability, most likely the answer is yes.

Give this medicine a try...it will move you πŸ’ƒ

Did you know that Chinese Herbal Medicine can be used to treat the symptoms that many women experience around menopause?

This study found that a commonly used Chinese Herbal Formula helped balance women's hormones to ease the transition into menopause.

As always, we do not use a one size fits all approach when prescribing herbal medicine. Each formula is uniquely tailored to YOUR symptoms and constitutional type.

If you struggle with hormone imbalance, peri-menopause or not, I highly recommend consulting with a qualified practioner of Chinese Medicine to find balance and better health.

I'm officially halfway through a year-long intensive Chinese Herbal Medicine program. Just like when I immersed myself in Ayurvedic Medicine over a decade ago, I continue to be in awe of the healing power and generosity plants have to offer us as both food and medicine.

I've seen herbal medicine treat many things with little to no negative side effects including digestive complaints, insomnia, depression, menstrual cycle issues, skin conditions and many more common chronic ailments.

I'm grateful to continue on this journey using Eastern Medicine as a healing modality and excited to continue to share this powerful medicine with my patients, friends, and family.

Im my opinion, this is not "alternative medicine." This medicine has used in healing traditions for thousands of years. I'm happy to see a Renaissance of plant medicine used to address the ailments of modern society and the health issues that go along with it.

As always, please consult an experienced practitioner before taking herbs and supplements to dial in the right blend specific to you and your health concerns.

Have you heard that Goat Yoga is a thing?! Well over here I do Oat Yoga. That's my pup Otis aka Oat Baby. For the past 2 years this little nugget has shaken up my morning routine and my Yoga practice with his Shih Tzu Shiatsu moves. For FREE he walks all over me any time I'm on the floor, and he even cleans my ears and face in Savasana pose. But what I gain most from Oat Yoga is the reminder to Have Fun and Let Go of Control.

Wanted to share just in case you've been taking yourself too seriously lately, because I know I tend to do that πŸ₯Έ

What do you like to do to infuse YOUR routine with more fun and spontaneity? πŸ€ͺ

Happy Monday y'all!
