When it comes to your rehabilitation, it helps to have every tool in the toolbox.

For patients working on their balance, we use a specialized treadmill that safely mimics real life walking challenges, like slips, trips and unexpected movements. Only two facilities in the nation offer this technology — and we’re one of them.

This innovative treadmill can help you improve your balance and be more independent so you can move with more confidence. It’s just one of the tools we use to support our patients on their journey to better.

After emergency surgery for a life threatening aortic dissection, Detective Sergeant Chris Johnson faced an extraordinary recovery. It was complicated by pulmonary embolisms, pneumonia, and two strokes that affected his ability to move his right arm.

Through determination and both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care at Marianjoy, Chris rebuilt his strength. Today, he’s back at work and his everyday life.

Chris’ recovery journey is a reminder of what’s possible when you have a supportive care team of experts in your corner.

Sgt. Chris Johnson was told that his heart condition had nearly been "instantly fatal." Rapid medical care and rigorous therapy helped him recover.
