We are excited to welcome Samuel Onusko, MD, to Marianjoy!

Dr. Onusko is fellowship-trained in brain injury medicine and completed his residency at MetroHealth System in Ohio. He is board-certified in brain injury medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Onusko’s clinical interests include concussion management, amputation rehabilitation, swallowing studies, BOTOX injections and baclofen pump management. He will be seeing patients in the Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group Clinic at Marianjoy, as well as the Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic and the Procedure Center on campus.

A stroke happens globally every 2 seconds. Remember to B.E. F.A.S.T. to recognize the signs of stroke and get help. Acting quickly can save lives and help prevent lifelong disability.

Marianjoy sent a delegation to the 2025 American Nurses Credentialing Center National Magnet and Pathway Conference in Atlanta. More than 13,000 nurses, leaders and healthcare professionals from across the globe attended.

Our team celebrated the hospital’s first ANCC Magnet® Recognition this year, making it one of only 2% of freestanding rehabilitation hospitals to receive the designation. Magnet recognition is considered to be the highest and most prestigious distinction a healthcare organization can get for nursing practice and quality patient care.

For Spiritual Care Week, we’re highlighting our Spiritual Care team. They provide emotional, spiritual and faith-based support that honors the dignity, values, and unique beliefs of each person. All members of the team are chaplains, professionally trained to accompany people through difficult times.

On average, the team conducts about 800 patient visits per month, reflecting their commitment to meeting the spiritual needs of our patients.
