Thoracic Midback Stretches

Child’s pose walking hands all the way to one side and then the other.

Prone on stomach prop on one forearm then raise the opposite knee up to 90 degrees and reach through with that same side arm under the torso “threading the needle”. This can be a stretch and a mobilization.

Lastly get on hands and knees, reach one arm through toward the opposite foot, tucking the head under like you are about to do a summer salt or ukemi
Do all 5x each side for 3-5 second holds

This week I went to an event organized by Stronger Families. It’s geared toward helping current Military, Veterans and First Responders all over the country. Helping with relationship skills and communication between spouses and even between parents and their teenagers. Stronger Families is offering the help you may need and they are all about giving back. It can be life changing. I was truly impressed with their mission and presentation. I couldn’t begin to go into the scope of all they do all across the country, as I would surely mess it up. Congrats to Brad and Jess Halling on the opening of BHawk distillery. I’ve been watching the posts of the building, plans etc. The finished product is “more than”. Can’t even do it justice to describe this 5 star facility. Go see for yourself. Good facility, good whiskey and good owners. Best of luck to them!

Wanted to share this not only to the equestrian community but anyone that would like to help this truly amazing person. Online Auction for Elizabeth Hart. On May 9th, North Carolina based dressage rider Elizabeth Hart was involved in a freak accident while catching a horse. While her injuries were extensive, she is making great improvements and is on the long road to recovery.

Elizabeth is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist, with a bustling teaching and training program. Her clients include adult amateurs, professionals, eventers, dressage riders, and those looking to create better communication with their horse. While her and her student’s accomplishments are vast, she is probably better known for her positive presence in the equestrian community, always quick to offer encouragement and reassurance.

Finding yourself out of work is an unfortunate risk of self-employment. We’d like to come together as an equestrian community to help Elizabeth through her recovery, and show her how much we miss her welcoming smile and encouraging words. There will be an online auction starting Monday, May 22nd. Hart, , , ,
