We value accessible, transparent complementary care under MN Statute 146A. HF 362 threatens that by imposing one-size-fits-all licensure on massage that:
• Burdens experienced practitioners with irrelevant education & costs.
• Burdens cultural and traditional practices of massage like Lomi Lomi, Ayurvedic, Thai, and others unless you have massive amounts of Westernized training, essentially risking erasing diverse cultural healing traditions!
• Fails to address human trafficking (data shows no decrease in licensed states; may attract bad actors).
• Replaces 146A's empowering Client Bill of Rights—which lets clients see your full "resume," ask questions, & co-create their wellness journey—with bureaucracy.
SchaOn Blodgett, CCP, BTAT (Traditional Naturopath, 25+ years and a strong advocate of MN 146A) shared his personal opposition: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_AfUVM0xZC9PcjZsRm1pTxVYnlZlm56dIrqoCQ6kkf4/edit?usp=sharing .
