I have an exciting and extra special announcement to share!

Since our quarterly state massage board meetings are public, I suppose I can now officially share this news.

Back in November, while celebrating my birthday in Virginia, I was contacted and informed that I was name dropped for a consultant position with our state's massage regulatory board. I had already been vetted without my knowing, so all that was left was an interview, to see if I was interested, and to be put before the board for a vote. I was told that there were several people nominated and that I would hear something within a month or so. Three months later, and having not heard anything, I assumed that someone else was chosen.. that is until I got to work this morning.

I received a text message from a wonderful friend and former massage school instructor, letting me know that she saw my name on today's board meeting agenda. So of course between clients, Tom and I rushed to watch the board meeting recording... and then it happened! I was voted in for the position!! So in addition to continuing my thriving practice, I will support our massage board administration and the office of special investigations along with two other therapists as a consultant. I am excited for this opportunity. Not just as a step forward in my career, but also in what I can contribute to our industry, especially here in Tennessee. I'm grateful to the individual who nominated me and for their confidence in what I can bring to this role.

What does this mean for my business?
SOS Massage will still continue and everyone will still receive the same wonderful care you already know and love. It does mean that occasionally I may have to shorten my work day or that I might have to take some time off to support this additional role. I will strive to the best of my ability to make those disruptions as few as possible so that I can continue to serve my large following of phenomenal clients. I hope that you will join me in my excitement for this proud and positive career growth celebration.

🌞👏The roads are finally becoming safer for travel, and the warmer temperatures today and tomorrow should assist with melting the ice more effectively so that we can clear our driveway. SOS Massage will reopen starting this Friday. Client safety is still a priority this week. I will reach out to both Friday's and Saturday's clients the evening before to offer recheduling if needed due to travel concerns.

Hello Monday Morning! I just wanted to share the beautiful icy wonderland we have been given... all 4" of it. Feel free to share in the comments your photos and what you are doing today.
I'll go first...
We walked around.. very carefully.. to check for any new fallen trees. I took a few videos and photos for updates and memories. We cuddled with our barn cats and chickens out in their shelters. Then we went to visit with a neighbor and shared some homemade bread that I recently baked. Although it is chilly outside, the sun feels great!

Please keep all the medical professionals and emergency responders in your prayers. Many of them are having to pay out-of-pocket without any compensation for meals and lodging so that they can be closer to the hospitals due to the dangerous road conditions. Thank you to my professional clients that fill these roles... we appreciate your dedication to patient care!

Our poor linemen. They have been endlessly working extremely hard all day. They were able to get many homes restored, but now the outages are rising back up again. We just had 4 power flickers back-to-back (we thankfully still have power, so far) so we checked the county map for an update. It's another massive outage again. Please keep all of the essential workers who are working so hard out in these dangerous conditions in your thoughts and your prayers. If you are not essential personnel, please stay safe within your homes. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of my wonderful clients. I hope you remain warm and unharmed.
