Patient is a young Hispanic male with a chief complaint of a poor bite and his chin sticking out too far. After a physical examination and CAT scan it was determined that his maxilla was retrognathic and his mandible was prognathic.

His surgery included a LeFort I advancement(moved the upper jaw forward) that also brought the base of his nose forward and a mandibular bilateral sagittal split osteotomy(moved the lower jaw back) to bring his mandible significantly back.

Pre and 1 month post facial reconstructive surgery.

50yo male after a chainsaw kicked back and hit him in the face. The blade caused severe lacerations to the upper eyelid, cheek, nose, lips and chin. The blade also went through the bone of the orbit, nose, maxilla and teeth. The bone was repaired with titanium plates and screws. The ala of the nose was reconstructed. The lips were reconstructed. The loose teeth and surrounding bone were splinted. An attempt was made to reconstruct the tear ducts.

The patient was very happy with his appearance. He is wearing a nasal cone to prevent contraction of his left nostril. He does not have any problems with tearing.

Swipe left ⬅️ for immediate before and after rhinoplasty. Patient wanted a softer looking nose. Dorsal hump reduction, tip elevation and narrowing, was performed to give her a smaller softer looking nose. A columellar strut graft was placed to help elevate and strengthen the tip.

As the nose heals and contracts the tip will come down. It will settle in a few weeks.
