Feeling Burnt Out?

Burnout is a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by prolonged or excessive stress. It shows up when you’ve been carrying too much for too long, and your mind and body haven’t had the chance to recover.

If you're feeling burnt out, try this: sit back, place a hand on your abdomen, and take a slow breath in through your nose while pushing your stomach muscles out. Feel your belly rise as you inhale. Hold it for a moment, then exhale gently through your mouth as you let your shoulders drop and your abdomen relax.

As you continue to breathe, imagine a place where you’ve felt calm and relaxed, maybe a quiet path, a warm patch of sun, or your favorite chair. Let yourself be in that place for a few more breaths and notice how you feel more relaxed than you were a moment ago.

Haven Thanksgiving Drive

As we head into November, I’m helping organize a local food drive to support the Upper Valley Haven — a place that provides food, shelter, and compassion for families and individuals facing hard times.

While Vermont is covering SNAP benefits for the month, many households are still struggling with food and heating costs. The Haven is seeing an increase in requests for help, and together we can make a real difference.

Our goal: To gather as many donations as possible before Thanksgiving. Every local business and community member can help by collecting items, contributing directly, or encouraging others to join in.

Most Needed Items:
🥫 Pasta sauce
🍓 Jellies and jams
🥚 Eggs
🧴 Toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc.)
🧼 Laundry detergent, dish soap, disinfectant spray/wipes
🩲 Men’s boxers/boxer briefs (new, packaged)
🩸 Tampons and menstrual pads

You know those nights when you just can’t sleep? You’re tired, but your mind won’t stop. It jumps from unfinished tasks to old conversations to things you haven’t even figured out yet.

I used to lie there for hours too. Even after I’d followed all the advice and turned my screens off, ate dinner early, took the deep breaths, part of me that was still on high alert.

What finally helped me sleep through the night was learning how to slow the racing thought, get out of that high alert mindset, and let sleep happen. And not as a workaround or a quick-fix. As a permanent change.

In this post, I share the simple mental habits that made the difference, and how hypnosis helped shift the pattern completely.
