Most people aren't breathing as well as they could. In fact, most people only breathe at about 20% of their capacity. Which means...
*They are oxygen deprived
*Their body spends a lot of time in a sympathetic stress response
*They are missing out on the energy and mental clarity they could enjoy if they were breathing optimally

Loneliness kills.

Isolation destroys.

Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually.

We are created for connection, for belonging, for community.

One of the best indicators of resilience and longevity is whether or not a person has strong relationships and belongs to a supportive community.

Pills, supplements, and the latest health gadgets can't make up for a lack of connection and a sense of belonging.

Want to do something for your health? Get connected with like-minded people. Get involved in a supportive community. Spend time with the ones you love.

It will do your heart, mind, and body good!

I believe we are spiritual beings having a physical experience here on Earth. Our physical bodies are the gift we are given to live out that experience.

In order for your physical bodies to be healthy, you need to have a strong connection to it and a strong awareness of the way it communicates.

Our western culture heavily emphasizes being "in our heads," and using linear, logical thinking. This can be a good and beautiful thing when it's in balance.

But when it gets out of balance and becomes the dominant mode of knowing and understanding, people get disconnected and cut off from their bodies and the deep, innate wisdom they communicate.

The human body is designed to communicate in beautiful, although sometimes subtle ways. The physical sensations we feel can tell us not only about our body, but they can alert us to the emotions we are experiencing and to the situations and relationships in our lives that require our attention or that need to change in some way.

Cultivating an awareness of what you are feeling and experiencing in your body can be a great first step towards understanding what your body communicating.

Connection is key. Without connection, health and well-being suffer.

A sense of connection can be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

I believe the most important of these is the spiritual connection, and here's why.
Human beings mess up and fail all the time. No matter how great your friends, family, or co-workers are, they will let you down at some point. Someone will say or do something, whether intentional or not, that leaves you feeling hurt.

But the Creator, who is infinite, eternal and unfailing in His Light, Life, and Love never fails. Connection to His Divine Love is the ultimate connection to safety. That connection to safety is what allows us, as humans, to regulate our nervous systems, and that deep nervous system regulation is what opens the door to health and well-being!
