Get to know Integrated Co-Occurring Treatment (ICT) at The Buckeye Ranch!

Our ICT program supports youth, ages 12–17, who are navigating both serious mental health challenges and substance use disorder.
Rather than treating these struggles separately, ICT addresses how they interact, helping youth build the skills they need to heal, grow, and recover.

Through intentional, trauma-informed care and our partnership with OhioRISE, ICT works alongside youth and families to provide them with the skills they need to heal and recover.

April is !

At The Buckeye Ranch, we are committed to providing care that ensures dignity and respect for the youth we serve. We take our responsibility to offer community resources and education to help youth and families identify and prevent child abuse seriously. Advocacy is a crucial component in ensuring every child has the right to be safe from abuse in every way.

It takes every member of our community to engage in this critical work.

Together, we can raise hope and restore healing for our youth.

This month, we will be highlighting statistics and sharing resources to help you get involved. Stay tuned! 💙

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to celebrate transgender, gender non-conforming, and nonbinary people and recognize the strength, courage, joy, and resilience they bring to our communities.

At The Buckeye Ranch, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported for who they are. We stand firm in our commitment to creating spaces where LGBTQIA+ youth and families are met with dignity, compassion, and care.

💛 Today, we encourage our community to lead with kindness: listen, learn, and show up for the trans community in meaningful ways.

Consider supporting and learning from our friends Kaleidoscope Youth Center , Mozaic , Equality Ohio, and Stonewall Columbus, and join us in continuing to ensure our transgender community members receive the support and care they deserve.

This National Social Work Month, we are proud to celebrate Emily, a Care Coordination Manager whose leadership, compassion, and authenticity embody the very best of what care coordination and The Buckeye Ranch stand for.

According to members of her team, “Emily is the kind of leader who truly listens. She advocates fiercely for her team, supports growth with honesty, and brings a quick wit and sense of humor that helps balance even the hardest days. “

Team members describe working on Emily’s team as “the best match they could have hoped for. She holds high standards while nurturing individual strengths, collaborates openly on new ideas, and provides candid feedback – always with the goal of helping others reach their professional potential.”

Above all, Emily creates a space where people feel respected, supported, and motivated to bring their best selves to work. She is funny, professional, humble, and a true reason many team members choose to stay and grow at The Buckeye Ranch.

Thank you, Emily, for the lasting impact you make on your team and the families we serve!❤️

❤️ A warm welcome can make all the difference for foster youth.

We would like to give a huge thanks to Safelite for donating comfort and connection kits for youth entering foster care. Each bag — filled with cozy pajamas, a nightlight, a camera, and heartfelt notes — helps young people feel safe, seen, and supported as they step into a new space.

We are grateful for partners like Safelite who walk alongside us in our mission to restore hope and provide healing for children, youth, and families.

Say hello to one of our current cohort of interns at The Buckeye Ranch! 👋

Our internship program offers students hands-on experience in mental health, social work, education, and nonprofit fields — learning alongside passionate professionals who are dedicated to restoring hope and providing healing for children and families across Ohio.

This semester, we are proud to welcome 7 graduate-level interns joining us from The Ohio State University , Lindsey Wilson University , Cleveland State University , and Indiana Wesleyan University!

Each week, the interns come together for guided learning facilitated by three experienced supervisors, each bringing extensive expertise in the counseling field. These sessions include reflective discussions on the prior week’s experiences, along with structured learning across a variety of professional topics.

Their areas of focus include foundational counseling skills, case consultation, developing professional identity and confidence, and strengthening strategies for managing crises and navigating challenging conversations within treatment settings.

We are grateful for this incredible group of interns and the compassion, curiosity, and commitment they bring to our mission each day. 💙
