Seizures are one of the most frequently reported neurological conditions in dogs. 🐶 A seizure may also be called a convulsion or fit, referring to a temporary involuntary disturbance of normal brain function that is usually accompanied by uncontrollable muscle activity. Epilepsy is a term used to describe repeated episodes of seizures.

Treatment usually begins after a dog has:
More than one seizure per month, clusters of seizures where one seizure is immediately followed by another, or grand mal seizures that are severe or prolonged in duration.

Once anticonvulsant medication is started, it must be given for life. There is evidence that, if anticonvulsant medication is started and then discontinued, the dog may have a greater risk of developing more severe seizures in the future.

With the Holiday getting closer, we wanted to remind you of some pet safety tips as well as our 4th of July Holiday closure! 🎉

The clinic will be closed 7/4 to celebrate the 4th! As always please call the clinic prior to the closure to get any medications or food refills, and reach out to an emergency clinic if you have a medical emergency this weekend.

Well hello Jade 🩷 This sweet girl first came in with all her brothers and sisters in little laundry baskets. 🥹 Now she's gotten so big she's almost unrecognizable from the little pup she was in the second picture... she still likes to untie shoelaces though 😉 and those ears 😍 We're eager to watch her continue to grow up with us!!

Hello sweet Louie 🥰 He was a little shy during his first appointment with us but quickly warmed up to us when he got to spend some time doing a job shadow with the receptionists for a bit 🤭 With lots of attention (and plenty of treats) Louie quickly became a snuggle bug with us! 🩵

Everyone meet Beau! 🥰 The most handsome and polite little fluff ball was eager for love (and snacks) during his first puppy appointment! 🩵 With big paws and an even bigger heart, we can't wait to see how big he grows up to be! Look how big he's gotten in the last picture alone!! 🥹 Time moves way too fast!
