Check on your neighbors and be safe!

It sure can get chilly out there, even in Deer Park!
Protect your home with the following tips:

- Disconnect and drain garden hoses
- Cover outside faucets with insulating foam covers
- Turn off water to outside faucets and open valves on faucets to allow them to drain
- Turn off sprinkler systems and drain them
- Close garage doors
- Insulate exposed pipes with insulation – not just towels and newspapers - outside and inside your house (under your house or inside the attic) with foam pipe insulation
- Know where to turn off and drain the water from your home
- Check your pipes regularly
- Weather strip your doors and windows
- Check smoke alarms and Carbon Monoxide detectors
